Wrestler of the Month: March 2009

You didn't think I wouldn't bring this back now, did you?

This month's wrestler of the month is none other than Troy Douglas. Despite losing the EPW Intercontinental Championship to Cameron Cruise, he rebounded at A1E's Sudden Death and took out Marcus Westcott for that fed's World Championship. Congrats!

Runners-Up
Garbage Bag Johnny (GCW, PRIME)
Jeffrey Roberts (A1E)
Cameron Cruise (A1E, EPW)
Jason Snow (PRIME)
Fusenshoff (EPW, TEAM)

December's Wrestler of the Month and a Temporary Farewell

This month's honor goes to Chandler Tsonda, winner of PRIME's Jewel in the Crown Tournament. He won two matches in one night at King of Kings, and took the month-long tournament in style, capping off his comeback with number one contendership to the Universal Championship. Congratulations!

This month's runner-up goes to Dan Ryan for retaining the A1E World Championship, dropping a huge bombshell by taking over said company and for his goings on in NAPW. Truly capping off a WotY worthy year.

2007's Wrestlers of the Month
January: Dan Ryan (A1E, NFW)
February: Clinton Sage (FUSE, PTC Events)
March: Nova (NFW, PRIME)
April: Dan Ryan (2) (A1E, NEW, TEAM Events)
May: Big Dog (A1E)
June: Lindsay Troy (PRIME, EPW, NFW, TEAM Events)

October: Dan Ryan (3) (CSWA, A1E)
November: Sonny Silver (PRIME)
December: Chandler Tsonda (PRIME)

And now, for something completely different...

In case you're wondering, I'm not doing my year end blowout, mainly because I've been so out of the loop when it comes to the feds and their workings. I don't think I can give advice or credibly dole out awards for anything other than Wrestler of the Year. I've just been so busy lately with wedding stuff and with work and with other distractions that I'm losing a lot of my attention span when it comes to feds that I'm not involved in. It sucks, since everyone seems to look to me as the great connector, but I don't think I can do that right now.

So, what does this mean? I'm closing up the blog for now. I don't want to keep people waiting for entries that are never going to come, and I don't want to keep giving people shittily-written entries of opinion thinly veiled as analysis. I don't know about you, but I haven't been happy with my writing on here for awhile. So, if you're not happy doing something, why keep doing it?

This isn't my retirement from the hobby, not by a longshot. I just want to refocus my energies into TEAM and into RPing in the feds that I'm already in. And this doesn't mean there's no chance the blog won't come back in the future. It's just an indefinitely temporary hiatus.

So, without further ado, I'd just like to say thank you for reading my insane ramblings and making me feel more imporatant in this hobby than I ever had any right to be. Hopefully, I'll be back on here in the future, but until then, I'll catch you in the feds and on the forums.

November's Wrestler of the Month

Just so you guys know, you'll probably get posting from me in spurts from here on in. Lots of stuff going on in real life, so I'll post like a few entries over three or four days and probably go a week without posting. I know that sucks, but thems be the breaks.

Aanyway, time to honor our Wrestler of the Month for November, and this month, we honor Sonny Silver. Silver won his first World Championship since dropping the tSC Strap by defeating Lindsay Troy for the PRIME's Great American Nightmare. Congratulations abound for Seth, who made good on my prediction for him all the way back in January ;)

This month's runner-up is Clinton Sage, who has continued his dominance in FUSE and added the PTC Unified Championship to his resume this month. Sage has made a strong case for Wrestler of the Year. Congrats!

October's Wrestler of the Month

Yes, there's still one day left in the month, but other than the TEAM results, which have no bearing on the winner or runner-up for this month, I don't foresee any other results going up. So without further ado...

October's WotM takes this award for an unprecdented third time in a year, and it's mainly for an event that happened in the CSWA. Hell is freezing over as we speak, now that Gold Rush is finished, and at the end we saw an AMAZING swerve with Gold Rush winner Troy Windham being challenged to a match... and defeated by this month's winner, Dan Ryan. He's the new UNIFIED Champion, adding that to the A1E World Championship he won last month. Congrats, Brunk, and let's hope there isn't another 18 months between CSDub cards ;)

This month's runner-up is Vivica J. Valentine. Valentine capped off her month in GCW with winning the Dangerous Games battle royale to claim the number one contendership to Lia Ambrosi's World Championship. Job well done!

Honorable mentions - Fusenshoff (TEAM Events), The Sergeant (EPW), Jason Snow (PRIME, PTC Events), Eron the Relentless (CSWA), Bruce Richards (NAPW), Mike Randalls (TEAM Events)

September's Wrestler of the Month

This month's winner is no stranger to this award. He won it twice last year, and now, he's set to take his unprecedented third WotM. He's been a force in PRIME and he's also been doing well for himself in the Dupree Cup, but he's winning this award mainly for taking home the first ever "e-fed indie" tournament held in the post-interfed era of PTC, the Chris Williams Memorial Cup. He is The Illustrious Face-Eater! Everyone give Facey a round of applause.

This month's runner-up is "Triple X" Sean Stevens, whose tear in EPW has finally netted him the World Championship. He's also been relatively active in NFW. Give Trip a round of applause as well!

Honorable Mentions
Ice Tre (EPW), Dan Ryan (EPW, A1E, NFW, TEAM Events), Stylin' Kyle Roberts (REBEL, TEAM Events), Jason Snow (PRIME, PTC Events, TEAM Events), James Irish (A1E, EPW)

August's Wrestler of the Month

No, I'm not dead. Just been busy and a bit under the weather lately.

Anyway, August's Wrestler of the Month is none other than Lindsay Troy! For the second time this year, she takes home the honors due to her dominating performance in PRIME thus far. She successfully defended the Universal Championship at Colossus IV against Sonny Silver among her other accolades, plus she bested Dusk in the Dupree Cup first week. Congrats again, Lindsay!

This month's runner up is Ravager, for leading his team NAPW against the Crimes at Complete Control II. Ravager scored the pinfall against Rex Caliber, apparently ending the Nexus One's NAPW career.

Honorable Mentions - Lowell Dot Com (OWW), Tsunami Oni (OWW), Jeff Garvin (NAPW), Jason Payne (TEAM Events), Kin Hiroshi (TEAM Events)

July's Wrestler of the Month

This month, the honor goes to Nova. It is a bit of cheating, since a lot of his June accomplishments are fresh in my mind, but let's give it up for the man. He's the hottest thing on either circuit, tearing it up both in PRIME and in TEAM events, winning both the ToC and the CoC. Add all that to him being one of the crown jewels of NFW's version 3.0, and he's the clear-cut choice.

This month's runner-up is Ravager. Despite losing his NAPW World Championship on the last day of July, Ravager still had two title defenses, his 10th and 11th defenses. Plus he held onto the TEAM Challenge Championship in another heated defense. Congrats to both Nova and Ravager for the good month!

Honorable Mentions
Donovan Astros (NAPW), Larry Tact (NEW, TEAM Events), Rocko Daymon (NEW, A1E, EPW, TEAM Events), James Irish (A1E, TEAM Events, EPW), Joey Melton (EPW), Tchu (PRIME, PTC Events, TEAM Events), Stylin' Kyle Roberts (REBEL), Foster Nackedy (PTC Events), "Triple X" Sean Stevens (EPW, NFW), Kin Hiroshi (NFW, EPW, TEAM Events)

June Wrestler of the Month

Yep, it's that time again. Yeah, the month still has about one-and-a-half days left on it, but the only other show that would have any major bearing would be WrestleStock, and that's still in delay. So without further ado, June's WOTM is...

"Queen of the Ring" Lindsay Troy

Lindz became the first character to hold a major World Championship for a PTC fed (PRIME) and an FW fed (EPW) ever. She also made her first successful defense of the TEAM Championship of Champions this month, and notched an entertaning win over Kodiak Vic Creed at NFW WrestleBowl 2. Congrats, Lindz!

This month's runner-up is the man Lindz beat for the Uni TItle in PRIME, Nova. He bounced back from that defeat to be the sole survivor for his team at PRIME's OverKill, where he pinned Lindsay Troy. Oh yeah, and he also won the ULTRATITLE. Any other month, and he'd be the WOTM, but he came close, and there's no shame being second to Troy, especially in a month where she made history.

Honorable Mentions: Kin Hiroshi (NFW), Shawn Hart (NFW), Joe the Plumber (NFW), Big Dog (A1E), Dan Ryan (A1E, EUWC, TEAM Events), Ravager (NAPW, TEAM Events), Jason Snow (PRIME, PTC Events), Eddie Mayfield (NFW), Craig Miles (NFW), Easton Hall (PRIME)

Previous Wrestlers of the Month
January: Dan Ryan (A1E, NFW)
February: Clinton Sage (FUSE, PTC Events)
March: Nova (NFW, PRIME)
April: Dan Ryan (2) (A1E, NEW, TEAM Events)
May: Big Dog (A1E)

May's Wrestler of the Month

This month was a really, really hard choice. A lot of deserving folks, and I really couldn't give this one out without giving a lot of pause. Still, this month's winner is very deserving. He knocked off a guy who won two of these awards this year to win the A1E World Championship, a title that Dan Ryan was projected to hold for a good long time. He's also a Tag Team Champion, and he's proving that old dogs can learn new tricks. Just in case you haven't discerned yet, May's Wrestler of the Month is none other than Big Dog. Congrats Phil, you deserved this.

This month, we have three runners-up, if only because I can't just give this to one person from the fed I'm going to honor here. Jacob McKail, John Covel and Clinton Sage share runner-up honors this month for trading the FUSE Universal Championship in a very hot three way feud. Congrats, guys.

Honorable Mentions
Dan Ryan (A1E, NEW, WFW, EUWC, TEAM Events), Ulysis Solian (LoC, TEAM Events), Ravager (NAPW, TEAM Events), Rocko Daymon (A1E, NEW, EUWC), Nova (PRIME, TEAM Events), Jason Snow (PRIME, PTC Events), Killean Sirrajin (PRIME), Beast (A1E, EPW, TEAM Events), Harley Douglas (TEAM Events), Jason Payne (NEW, TEAM Events)

April's Wrestler of the Month

I had a very hard time trying to decide this month's honor, mostly because there wasn't a lot going on outside of interfed events. I had to look long and hard at two candidates, and I ultimately decided to award a previous winner, "The Ego Buster" Dan Ryan. He made it all the way to the TEAM Invitational Tournament Finals, and he's making headway, along with Lindsay Troy, in the NEW Tag Team Tournament. The biggie though, is his A1E World Championship win. I know that happened in March, but it happened after I announced the March WotM, and because of that, I'm counting Sudden Death in Blog-month April. So congratulations to Dan Ryan, keeping up the tradition Facey started last year of there being a two-time winner of this award each year.

The runner up goes to Jason Snow, who is a two time runner up. Who did he lose out to last time? Dan Ryan. When it rains, it pours, folks. Snow is here because he unified the PTC Global and Extreme Championships. His inactivity in any single fed costs him here, but folks, if he ever gets going in PRIME, he may take home a few of these honors.

Honorable Mentions
Clinton Sage (FUSE, PTC Events), Ulysis Solian (LoC, A1E, TEAM Events), Rex Caliber (Rebel-Pro), Jason Payne (TEAM Events), Lindsay Troy (PRIME, EPW, NEW, TEAM Events), "Triple X" Sean Stevens (EPW), Ravager (NAPW, TEAM Events), Shawn Hart (NEW, EPW, A1E, LoC, TEAM Events), Rocko Daymon (A1E, EPW, NEW, TEAM Events), Tchu (PRIME)

March's Wrestler of the Month

No, I'm not dead. Just really busy, both with real-life and eW stuff. I can't forget the Wrestler of the Month, and this month, the award goes to Nova! Nova won the NFW Western Conference, and he retained his PRIME Universal Championship at Culture Shock. Congratulations are in order for the Rising/Risen Star!

The runner-up award goes to his opponent at WrestleBowl 2, Yori Yakamo, Jr.. He won the Eastern Conference and made it to the Sweet 16 of the TEAM Invitational Tournament.

Honorable Mention
Tchu (PRIME), Lindsay Troy (PRIME, EPW, NFW), Danny Ferguson (PRIME), Bruce Richards (NAPW), Simply Beautiful (NAPW, A1E, TEAM Events), Jason Payne (NFW, TEAM Events), Fusenshoff (MBE, TEAM Events), The Canadian Loonie (TEAM Events), Dan Ryan (A1E, EPW, TEAM Events), Ice Tre (EPW)

February's Wrestler of the Month!

This month's recipient is a first-timer, and he's also the first representative from his fed to win the award in fourteen tries. He won the PTC Global Championship in a match featuring two former GTT winners and the current Champion and made it look damn easy. He was victorious in a blood-feud match at his fed's most recent PPV, avenging the man who took him out in GTT6. He's also been bugging me to give him this award for the last two months now :p The difference now? He actually deserves it this time around.

I'm talking about FUSE's own Clinton Sage!

Runner-up: This month's runner-up award goes to Ravager of NAPW. He won the NAPW World Championship at their PPV event Cold Snap, won his first round TEAM Invntational Tournament match, plus his match against Ulysis Solian at SSII and placed second in the inaugural FREE FOR ALL~! Championship match. Let's give him a round of applause too.

Honorable Mentions: Rob Franklin (UCW, MCW, TEAM Events), Sun Tzu (PRIME), Lindsay Troy (EPW, PRIME), Ice Tre (!) (EPW), IrishRed (A1E, UCW, EPW), Beast (A1E, EPW, UCW), Nova (PRIME), Angelo Deville (PRIME, PTC Events), Dusk (PRIME, PTC Events), John Covel (FUSE), The Canadian Loonie (TEAM Events)

January's Wrestler of the Month

No, I'm not dead :p

Anyway, January's coming to a close and that means we get to crown our first wrestler of the month for 2007. This month was a hard month to pick because there were more than a few guys deserving of the nod. In the end, I'm going with "The Ego Buster" Dan Ryan. He came back from the dead in the NFW playoffs, winning the second chance and earning a conference semifinal date with Felix Red. He also won A1E's Pier Six Brawl, earning a shot at the A1E World Championship.

This month's runner-up (new feature!) goes to Jason Snow, who captured GTT6, arguably the biggest non-TEAM tournament on the slate ;). He's in this spot and not the WOTM spot because his production in PRIME was a bit laggy. Still, an awesome accomplishment to say the least. (plus, FUCK YOU now has three, three, three GTT winners, ah ah ah!)

Honorable Mentions
Clinton Sage (FUSE, PTC Events), Chainz (PRIME), Felix Red (NFW), Yori Yakamo, Jr. (NFW), Shawn Jessica Hart, PhD (NEW, EPW), Beast (A1E), Doc Silver (MBE), Tony "The Grin" Gamble (PRIME), The New and Improved D-X (NAPW, MCW Events), Kin Hiroshi (NFW)

December's Wrestler of the Month

One last award to give out, and it's the last Wrestler of the Month Award. The following recipient also received Comeback Wrestler of the Year in the Blog Awards. He's getting this WotM for the way he capped off that comeback, with a big Transatlantic Title win in the beginning of said month. If you don't know whom I'm talking about, then let me tell you. He's Darcy Crisis, and he's the last WotM for AWC ever, and the last one for this year. Congrats, Nate.

Honorable Mentions: Tony "the Grin" Gamble (PRIME), Nova (PRIME, NFW), Lindsay Troy (EPW, PRIME, NFW), Jason Snow (PRIME, PTC Events), Violence Jack (PTC Events), Ember (PRIME, PTC Events), Rocko Daymon (NEW, A1E), Shawn Hart (NEW, EPW)

November's Wrestler of the Month

This month's honor, oddly enough, is the first recipient of this award from A1E. With the year that A1E's been having, you'd think there'd be more. However, this one is the first, and the recipient is well-deserving. The RRoaEL Blog is proud to present James Irish with November's Wrestler of the Month honors. He finally got over the hump and dethroned WOTY Candidate Richard Farnswirth to take the A1E World Heavyweight Championship. It's a title that I feel is about 2 years overdue, but you know what they say, better late than never. Congrats, James. You earned it.

October's Wrestler of the Month

Alright, for this past month of October, the E-Fed Blog would like to honor Jason Snow as the Wrestler of the Month. Snow's return to e-fedding has been an impactful one, going toe to toe on the stick with two of the best in the business, "The Renegade" Rich Rollins and Angelo Deville. Then, in a shocking twist at PRIME's Great American Nightmare, he shocked the world and sided with the Satanically good duo, assaulting his own partner Xavier Kannon and forming perhaps the most formidable trio of wrestlers in the entire hobby as we know it right now. As an added bonus on top of that, Snow won his first round GTT6 match against Sentinel, a match that many have pegged as the best of the first round. Let's give a big round of applause for Snow, "informing" >=) his way to the top of th heap in October.

Honorable Mentions: Jason Payne (TEAM events, PTC events), The Spoiler (A1E, TEAM Events), James Irish (A1E, TEAM Events), IrishRed (MBE, A1E, UCW), The First (UCW), Garbage Bag Johnny (AWC, PTC Events), Tchu (PRIME, PTC Events), Nova (PRIME, TEAM Events, PTC Events), Seymour Almasy (AWC, GCW, PRIME, PTC Events)

September's Wrestler of the Month

This month's award goes to Garbage Bag Johnny. At the beginning of the month, he culminated four months of utter dominance in AWC by capturing both the Transatlantic Championship and Crown, unifying them at last. The next week, he clinched an automatic spot in GTT6, defeating the other two singles title holders in AWC, the formidable Darcy Crisis and Gabriel Afeaki. He's also provided some of the most entertaining segments on AWC television all month and is certainly deserving of this honor.

Honorable Mention: The Spoiler (A1E, TEAM), Richard Farnswirth (A1E, EPW), IrishRed (A1E, EPW, UCW, TEAM), The First (UCW), Tchu (PRIME), Seymour Almasy (GCW, PTC Events), Nova (PRIME, TEAM), Jason Payne (NEW, TEAM), Derecho (LoC, TEAM), Darcy Crisis (AWC), Gabriel Afeaki (AWC), Kyle Roberts and Bruce Richards (NAPW, TEAM)

August's Wrestler of the Month

Alrighty, this month, our winner is none other than the Inhuman Being, one of Colossus III's main eventers and the NEW PRIME Universal Champion... Tchu! He's had one hell of a month in the build to his huge match with mortal rival Killean Sirrajin. After four years, their feud finally came to a head, and Tchu was victorious. Congrats!

July's Wrestler of the Month

I may have spoiled this in an earlier post, but this month's choice is Joey Melton! He didn't win any titles, but his work on the NFW West and EPW shows was among the most entertaining all year. The best e-fedders don't just win titles, they keep your attention through segments that may not involve titles, wins and losses or ego-stroking. If there were an award for most entertaining character of all time, Joey might win it walking away. Congrats!

Honorable Mentions: Damien Cruz (FUSE), Red Rock (AWC), Lindsay Troy (EPW, PRIME, NFW), Tony Gamble (PRIME), Pierce Lavelle (AWC), Ellis Nash (AWC), The Spoiler (A1E), Felix Red (NFW), D! (NAPW, TEAM Events)

Previous Winners from 2006
June: AAAHH!! I didn't give one out! Shit... well, retroactively, the WOTM for June is... umm... D! (NAPW, TEAM Events) for winning the Tournament of Champions.

April: "Triple X" Sean Stevens (EPW)
March: Yori Yakamo, Jr. (NFW)

May's Wrestler of the Month

We have our first repeat winner.

Adam Dick/The Illustrious Face-Eater has garnered his second Wrestler of the Month Award, partially for his AWC work, but mostly for his ownership in PRIME. Up until recently, he has held PRIME's Internet, Five-Star and Tag Team Championships (he recently lost the I-net title). Add that to his Transatlantic Championship in AWC, and you've got one hefty resume for the month of May. Congrats to Facey!

Previous WOTMs:
April - "Triple X" Sean Stevens (EPW)
March - Yori Yakamo, Jr. (NFW)
February - Seymour Almasy (ACW, PTC Events)
January - Adam Dick (AWC)
