Your Blogger Answers, pt. 420

First off, Project Discovery Channel is not dead. I just haven't really had the chance to hop onto IM and get an interview with people in the queue. I will hopefully get two or three up this week, time permitting.

And now, to some more questions, these ones coming from the Chairman of NFW, Jon Katz, who mainly wants to know about my past with TEAM:

-What have been your favorite in-ring moments for TEAM?

There have been a few. The tops would probably be D! coming from virtual FW-obscurity to win the first Tournament of Champions. While the NAPW crowd knew he was up for the task, I think most of us thought that there wasn't a fed outside the FW, PTC or angle fed circles that could produce someone who could write quality. How wrong we were, and it was really satisfying to me to be able to bring a fed from outside the circle in and see them succeed at such a level that they were able to earn respect almost instantly.

Some other moments I'd think of were Joe Average upsetting Ken Cloverleaf in the first TiT, Mike Randalls shaking off the ring rust and winning the most recently completed TiT, Team NEW and Team MBE facing off in the first Dupree Cup finals, and most recently, Fusenshoff taking the CoC and solidifying himself as a main eventer in the FW arena.

-What's the most impressive run or dominant performance you've seen in TEAM?

Ravager's Challenge Championship run. Every time you think he's due to get beaten for that title, he comes back with something that drops your jaw. He really does shine in the situational writing field, and that's pretty cool.

-If you had the time/motivation to write full matches and the RP participation backed up by the handlers, what would be your dream supercard for TEAM SUPERSHOW 20?

Main Event Four Way for the Championship of Champions
Ravager (c) vs. D! vs. Nova vs. Fusenshoff

Basically it's a match between three of the most prominent holders of the CoC against a guy whom I think will win it sooner or later. Good main event to have at the top of the card.

Ego Buster's Farewell
Dan Ryan vs. Lindsay Troy

This match has been talked about for awhile. I'd love to see Ryan get a bit more mileage out of his character in the CSWA and NAPW before he retires, but it should be against the star who really got her main event push jump started in his fed.

Troy Windham vs. Michael Manson

I don't know if this match ever happened, but it should. Two of the major heavyweights in FW history.

Challenge Championship Match with some kind of fucked up stipulations
Felix Red (c) vs. Shawn Hart

I figure the RP for this match would blow everyone's minds, so why not?

Olvir Arsvinnar and Cowboy Jimmy Donovan vs. Beau Michaels and Big Gay Bruce

Token comedy match between two oversexed heteros and two oversexed homos, with three of FW's best RPers and me :)

Lethal Lottery Championships
Kin Hiroshi and Tyler Rayne (c) vs. Marcus Westcott and Garbage Bag Johnny

No real rhyme or reason for either pairing except that I'm a fan of all four guys involved and think this would be a cool match.

FREE FOR ALL~! Championship Match
Participants: Jason Payne, Harley Douglas, Larry Tact, James Varga, Phil Atken, Menace, Big Dog, Tchu, Mr. Amazing!, Jonathan Rhine, Professor Tremendous, The Sergeant, Frankie Scott, James Irish, Rex Caliber, Donovan Astros, Suicide, Boogie Smallz, Bryan Storms, Mike Randalls, HAL, Jonathan Marx, Problem Child, "Sudden Impact" Randall Knox, Jared Wells, High Flyer, Cameron Cruise, Sean Stevens, Dr. Tittylover, Yori Yakamo, Jr., The Illustrious Face-Eater, Stylin' Kyle Roberts, The Wraith, Steven Shane, Ken Cloverleaf, Hans Nowak, Mittens T. Cat, Devin Shakur, Dusk and Rook Black

40 wrestlers for the biggest FFA~! BR yet. I really loved the FFA~! concept more than most, and I'm really bummed that most of the matches really don't get a good turnout.

-What TEAM matches really stand out for you in terms of your voters going against the grain of what you would have booked?

Usually, it's in the ToC more than individual matches. Nothing really stands out to me in TiT or Dupree Cup matches that was a case of both other judges in the match outvoting me unless I was the last to vote and cast a protest vote just to make sure that the guy/team wasn't getting shut-out if I felt they put up a good effort.

And for one final question, The Rage asks:

How badly do you think Ravager is going to pummel me in the first round of the MidWest Bracket?

Usually, when I pick someone to win, they often times are jinxed and lose :p That being said, Ravager is always tough and he's tournament tested, but anyone can be beaten, and from what I've seen of the Rage, while not out-of-the-park impressive, I thought there was potential.

As always, thanks for the questions, and KEEP 'EM COMIN'!!!!

The Dream Roster, Mk. II

It's a snow day here, so that means not a whole lot of work getting done at the office and more time for blogging. Since I'm a huge believer in symmetry, I thought that I'd do something now that the blog is back that I did when I first started the blog... craft a fantasy roster. Some of the names will be different. Some will remain the same. That all goes with the territory of both expanding my view of the eW world at the same time as retaining a lot of my old, sentimental favorites. This roster was made out of a mix of characters I really liked and handlers I feel I'd want on any fed's roster that I was running. So, here goes:

The Main Event

Heel

"The Ego Buster" Dan Ryan - Could he be the best character in the history of FWC? Maybe, maybe not, but no one can deny the impact he's had on that family of feds as well as his reach-outs to other feds like A1E, NAPW and MBE. Add in Brunk's gift of being able to cut some of the best heel promos ever for him, and any fed would want him to the first pick to be on the roster.

Troy Windham - Windham is FW's Ric Flair, Superstar Billy Graham and heel Rock all rolled up into one. One of the more ostentatious characters in eW history, Windham has a history with nearly everyone important in the FW circle. Those he doesn't? Well, they're probably new or foreign to the circuit and would provide good new ground for the Epitome to cover. Plus, Gethard in any fed is a plus.

Beast/Marcus Westcott - Beast/MW was on this list before as a face, but he's been playing the heel for so long, and effectively at that, that he needs to be here in the heel section. Plus, you get a three-for-one here with Beast. One, you get an effective top-of-the-card heel. Two, with Jarrett, you get an experienced staffer with big-time matchwriting experience, and three, you get an able webmaster. Great success!

Prisoner #187 - Of all the Dan West characters, I chose #187 mainly because of the untapped potential. The second run Dan had with him (the one beginning with the Slambo swerve and ending some time before the first official Golden Dreams) was among the most dominant runs I have ever seen in e-fedding. How he wasn't able to parlay that into multiple World Championships I'll never know. Maybe the rise of Chip Friendly, whom I think we can all agree is a first ballot A1E Hall of Famer now, was a big part of that, but I'll take the first DW A1E character and see what he'd be able to do given a prolonged run at the top.

Face

Big Dog - The quintessential face. There was no other character in eW that I felt would be as wrong to turn heel as Big Dog was. So when Phil decided he was going to turn Dog heel during the Euclid feud, I was skeptical. I don't know if I ever told him that, nor did I think I told him that I was glad that Dog never took off heel and remained a face for the bulk of his career, but the point stands now. Dog would be a perfect foil for any of the above main event heels, and actually, there's bountiful amounts of evidence to support that as he was in main event programs with three out of four of them above to great acclaim.

"The Queen of the Ring" Lindsay Troy - Back when I did the first one, Lindz had not yet reached the apexes she has since. I said that she was ready to break through, and I dedicated more than a few blog posts about how women characters shouldn't be held back because of their gender if the writing was there. Lindz has proven that point more than anyone could properly explain. Her ascension to the premiere handler and character in either community was one of the most surprising yet deserved runs in history. I have her face instead of heel here because I feel like her character has become someone you cheer no matter what her actions. An almost unheelable character.

"The Final Fantasy" Seymour Almasy - Because this character's been everywhere, so why not here? :p In all seriousness, I was stricken by how well Sean played the underdog face role in the epic build to his World Championship win in ACW. 187/Almasy would be a ridiculously good feud, potentially better than the 187/Housefly feud back in the day in A1E.

Nova - What Lindz did bridging from the FWC over to PTC and angle fed communities, Nova did to a smaller extent in reverse. Mostly concentrating his exploits in TEAM, NFW and CSWA. Obviously, I'll take the shaggy, pot-smoking face variant over EEEEVIL FUCK YOU~! Nova for this endeavor, as he's far more entertaining as a face, and would work well with some of the above guys, especially ones he has history with like Ryan and maybe Troy Diddy.

The Upper Mid-card

Heel

Shawn Jessica Bubbles Hart, PhD - Most feds would kill to have SJH at the top of their card. Why do I have him here? It's no disrespect, really, but I think he's got the versatility to work nearly anywhere on the card with anyone. He can be serious when he wants to and challenge the main event (where Lindsay Troy and Nova would be PERFECT foils for him) or stay in the secondary title area where he could have classic feuds with guys like GBJ and D!

Yori Yakamo, Jr. - While I'm a huge fan of Hida, I'll take the other Yakamo brother here for the sheer insanity and the more recent cred he has from being an NFW Season 2 finalist. Plus, I think Jeff would have an easier time writing him as opposed to Hida.

The Codemaster - After the gimmick post, how could I not have him on this list? Another character with versatile card mobility like SJH, Codemaster could really work with anyone on the card. He's another candidate for a hot, entertaining feud with Almasy, just because of the nature of both their characters.

Ravager - He's the no-nonsense enforcer in the group to balance out the goofiness of the first three. But don't let that fool you. Allan is a versatile and creative RPer, and he can certainly add an element of levity that would belie Ravager's serious persona if given the chance.

Face

James Irish - When you have James on the roster, you know you're going to get a solid effort, week in and week out. He's a good comedic handler who works well with everyone unlike some other comedic characters who only mesh well with a few types of characters.

D! - I know D!'s been heel forever now, but I look at the run he had in the first ToC, and I'm still amazed today. The charisma is animal, it's off the charts and something that any fedhead should want. I really think that in a wrestling-promo/trash-talk styled RP fed, D! would be the best counterpuncher on the roster.

Troy Douglas - Megatron is that workmanlike character that everyone seems to take for granted until he's not there as a reliable anchor. He's now getting his chance to shine in A1E, and probably soon enough in EPW as well, and I think that he's a good fit on any dream roster.

Garbage Bag Johnny - One of the best parts of AWC towards the end was GBJ, whose quirks (along with Adam Dick's) added a fun dimension to the otherwise srs bsnss of the main event. I can see him having a good contrast-of-styles feud with 187 and a mind-blowingly weird feud with Yori.

Mid-card

Heel

Slambo the Clown - Almost a given with 187 on the roster. He can do multiple things, like join 187 in the tag ranks, be an anchor for the secondary title division, even set up an angle down the line where he breaks from 187 and turns face.

Lowell Dot Com - I know I have a shit-ton of comedic heels already, but how could I pass up the opportunity to get Devin's best character on the roster?

The Wraith - He's a rising star in A1E, and before long, I think he could be in main events there. He fills the role of monster heel well without RPing like a generic variant. A lot of thought for a big guy character.

Donovan Astros - He started out great in A1E, but kinda disappeared. I know he's back in NAPW, but admittedly, I haven't been following it enough lately to comment on what he is now. Regardless, he can play a great cerebral and cocky heel, and he has a good handle on how to present a character.

Face

Olvir Arsvinnar - C'mon, how could I have a fed and NOT include the Butt Dominator?

Fusenshoff - I really do feel that Fuse is the future of the FWC circuit at the very least. He's the first new guy from a new handler to come along and really electrify in his first couple of years. Once he breaks through and wins a major World title - which could be as soon as TEAM SuperShow X - he won't stop. I'd love to see Fuse go up against some of the more established stars at any point in the process.

Fanatic - At first, Fanatic would continue his feud with Wraith that he has going in A1E, but I feel like he could segue into any number of feuds, especially with the amount of cerebral heels in the mid- and upper midcard that are present in the fed. Plus, I gotta have Pena on the roster, and I figured I'd rather see more of Fanatic than Tact for now.

Impulse - A great new character from a seasoned and possibly still secret-identitied handler, Impulse is the kind of guy you want to catch while he's still on the ground floor.

Tag Teams

Heel

The Unfuckables (The Illustrious Face-Eater, Mike Wade) - Either one of these guys could break off and make a great main event run like Facey did in AWC and like Wadey could have done had he not left for a bit. However, their antics together are too tantalizing to pass up for tag team mayhem.

The Professionals (Craig Miles, Eddie Mayfield) - Again, either of these guys could be heel anchors for the company, but together, the heel forces would be so awesome that if I didn't team them, I'd be doing the world a great disservice.

The Enigmas (Michael Manson, Felix Red) - This was never an established tag team, I don't think, but I think they'd play off each other well both in RPs and in the write-ups.

Face

The New and Improved d-X ("The Beast" Bruce Richards, Stylin' Kyle Roberts) - The most dominant tag team in NAPW history is here to show people how it's done. Even though they're probably better as heels, I think they can play the iconic or even cool heel-style face with aplomb.

The Cameron Cruise Project (Joey Melton, Cameron Cruise) - Again, they spent most of their run straddling the fine line between heel and face, but this team was made to be cheered. Plus, Tard always brought out the best in Siegel. These guys would have a classic feud with any number of established or makeshift teams on the roster.

The Dogs of War (Jason Payne, Chris McMillian) - Had to include my boy Jason Payne on here, so why not with McMillian in the tag ranks? Good intense tag team to contrast the other two more light-hearted face tag teams in the ranks here.

The Best Cards

Reader Shane Gerlach from The Bumfuck Hills of one of those states that shares one Internet router with Montana, North Dakota and all of Western Canada asks "I'd like to see a post on the top cards you have ever 1. read 2. been a part of 3. imagined (your dream card)."

Alrighty then, here you go!

Read

This one defintely has to go to the first ever A1E Vengeance. I've cited this as the point in A1E where our own drive to make the matches epic sort of ruined cardwriting in A1E for awhile, but it was still a damn fine card in terms of matches. The aura around the event was just amazing. Beast/Torment and Fly/187 still remain some of the best matches in A1E history. This is where we came of age.

Participated

It would have been Vengeance if the card wasn't so sluggishly RPed for. Therefore, my choice is MBE High Stakes 2001. I was a part of it in two matches, an interpromotional tag team match (JA and Fly vs. Hida and Yamada) and the Four Way Ladder Match for the North American Championships (Maggot/WhiteNoise/AussieB/Tillrules). Both matches were a blast to RP for. You also had a super-hot Spoiler/FF title match, and on this card, the hugest swerve in A1E/MBE history, and perhaps the biggest one in e-fedding until the Dis angle in EPW, and that is Amazing, Inc.

Dream Card

Oooh :)

Main Event: The Clash of the Titans
The Spoiler vs. "The Ego Buster" Dan Ryan vs. Kodiak Vic Creed vs. Ivan Stanislav

The War to Settle the Score
Jericoholic Anonymous vs. Beast

Maggot vs. Angelo Deville

Stable Wars: The MidWest Mafia vs. LOVE
IrishRed, Mango, Meatbag and BobbyR as "The Red Don" vs. Anarky, Psycho, Felix Red and Jared Wells

Seymour Almasy vs. Hida Yakamo

The Cameron Cruise Project (Joey Melton and Cameron Cruise) vs. The Über Judge and Dr. Curiosity

Hornet vs. Freakfish

Empire vs. Empire
Housefly, Gladiator and Chameleon vs. Pierce Lavelle, Gabriel Afeaki and Juggernaut Kintu

SuperMegaBattleRoyale For the Golden COWBELL OF DOOM~!

Professor Tremendous vs. Lowell Dot Com vs. Olvir Arsvinnar vs. Yori Yakamo, Jr. vs. Mike Wade vs. Mr. Hyde vs. Jake Hix vs. Adam Benjamin vs. D! vs. Kyle Roberts vs. Bruce Richards vs. Shawn Hart vs. Max Danger vs. Tchu vs. Nova vs. The Illustrious Face-Eater vs. Troy Windham vs. Chip Friendly vs. PILE vs. Johnny Morgan vs. Promo vs. High Flyer vs. Tony Gamble vs. The First vs. Michael Manson vs. MWG vs. HAL vs. Slambo the Clown vs. Mr. Amazing vs. Shane Southern vs. James Irish vs. Big Dog vs. Euclid vs. Killean Sirrajin vs. Prisoner 187 vs. Eddie Mayfield vs. Craig Miles vs. Mike Randalls vs. MANPOWER~! vs. Guy Boudreaux

Fantasy booking

This week, I'm gonna try my hand at some fantasy booking for just one match, but it's a doozy. I'm gonna think of what happens when the three titans of the e-fedding world collide in one match...

Kodiak Vic Creed vs. The Spoiler vs. Dan Ryan

The match starts out heavy and intense. KVC and Spoiler start by slugging it out, with Ryan picking his spots very cerebrally. Soon, Spoiler gets a slight advantage on KVC and goads Ryan into the full-fledged fray to make it a three way slugfest. After about 5 minutes of heavy fighting, the three suddenly realize that fighting each other is no good. They all confer in the middle of the ring and oddly leave the arena.

They're next sighted landing on the shores of France, armed with nothing but their ring gear and their fists and legs. They're stopped by a group of French customs agents. The next thing you know, the customs agents are planted about 6 inches into the ground. The local police are no match. France surrenders with no hesitation 4 hours later.

Despite their rousing success in France, the alliance almost derails before it starts. Spoiler attempts to eat the Eiffel Tower. KVC is hungry too and he wants some. They bicker. Thankfully for Dan Ryan, cooler heads prevail.

France is not enough for the trio. They move onward to stiffer resistance in Germany,. The German military brings out the heavy guns, but it's no use. Dan Ryan catches bullets with his teeth. Cruise missiles just bounce of Spoiler's red-and-black mask. Vic Creed, the tank-tossing champion in Alaska for the last seven years, just hurls Panzers like Roger Clemens throws fastballs.

One by one, the smaller countries fall. Switzerland might have been neutral before, but that is no concern of Ryan, KVC and Spoils. Ryan carelessly steps on Luxembourg, crushing the country under his boots. Liechtenstein bites it when a missile rams unexploded into Creed's gut, causing him to vomit all over the small, landlocked country. The puke melts all infrastructure. The people have no chance.

While heads of state tremble under Ryan's demands. While KVC keeps the local tank units at bay, Spoiler invades small towns as villagers flee. The ones who remain pray for mercy in the local chapels from a God they fear is pissed at them. IT's not God who's angry. It's just three, really burly professional wrestlers.

One by one, the countries of Europe fall. Denmark, Poland, Austria, Croatia. Hungary falls accidentally, as a random Spoiler burp splits the capital city in twain, back as it was before the Middle Ages, Buda and Pest.

The powers are desperate. The United States sends nuclear capabilities at the loud pleas of the prime minsters of Romania and the Baltic States. They catch a break when all three sit down for a light lunch of pita bread and the blood of their enemies somewhere in Estonia. The US catches them by surprise with a 100-megaton nuke. Estonia is leveled. Survivors mutate almost instantaneously, or grow tumors the size of grapefruits. Creed, Ryan and Naitch though? Unscathed. No wait, their powers increased.

The world panics. Every single one of Vladimir Putin's blood vessels burst simultaneously at the thought of them invading Russia. The world begins a candlelight vigil hoping to stave off the Apocalypse.

But there's no Russian invasion. Just like that, the three disappear from the map, just hours before they would have reached St. Petersburg. No trace whatsoever.

What happened? Well, who knows.

If Jon Katz is to be believed, Brock Estell set a trap so clever that if he himself bgan to explain it, his head would have collapsed upon itself like a neutron star. Many people speculate that Tom Siegel invited them over for breakfast and served them Eggo waffles spiked with enough GHB to last a frat boy througout his 7 year stay at college.

But I know the truth. From an anonymous tip, provided by Lamont Hollywood, the three returned to their home planet to stave off an impending crisis. He didn't say much else except that it involved Joey Melton, midgets, biscuits and perhaps those guys from the Poser Mobile commercial.

Not much else needs to be said.

(Please forgive the above weirdness.... I had a stressful weekend at work, and I think this is the product of 18 hours of mind-numbing retail work, sandwiched around reading the NFW West card this week, which by the way, was fantastic)

UDWA... THE PAY PER VIEW~!

Here we go, the UDWA's first pay-per-view, which I'm going to call...

...Coronation!

The card is as follows:

1st round tournament matches
Spoiler vs. Professor Tremendous
Beast vs. Shane Southern
James Irish vs. Troy Windham
Alias vs. Hida Yakamo

2nd round matches
Spoiler/ProfT vs. Beast/Southern
Irish/Windham vs. Alias/Yakamo

10 Man Tag Match
The Queen's Court (Lindsay Troy, Nemesys, Reign, Joey Melton, Cameron Cruise) vs. Boogie Smallz, Karl Brown, W. Clark and a mystery team

Finals

Anyway, to the wrestling~!

Match 1: Spoiler vs. Professor Tremendous

The match is basically Spoiler kicking the crap out of Prof T until Slambo the Clown makes his presence. However, Slambo is waylaid by Beau Michaels before he can hit the ring and Spoiler wins after a healthy SpoilerBomb (WHAM~!). The rovign band of security breaks up Slambo and Beau.

Match 2: Beast vs. Shane Southern

This is a classic encounter. Beast grinds down on Southern in the early going, but the former CSWA Champion comes back with his resiliency. Beast gets an advantage and sets Southern up for Absolution (TD '91... w/ATTITUDE~! after a ref bump, but Eddie Mayfield comes out of the crowd, turns Beast around, hits him with the CLASSIC Screwjob (spinning tombstone) and revives the ref. Southern covers Beast and advances.

Match 3: James Irish vs. Troy Windham

ANother back and forth affair. Irish has the distinct advantage when Windham rolls out of the ring and grabs Erin Flanagan (James' valet). James charges after him, but Windham drops and tosses Erin out of the way, causing Irish to go headfirst into the barricade. Windham rolls Irish into the ring, hits a SlackKnife (neckbreaker... kinda like an inverted stunner) for good measure and gets the pin.

Match 4: Alias vs. Hida Yakamo

This is the match of the first round. Classic back and forth affair with Hida Yakamo having Alias in position for the HIDADRIVER~! (Oh the Humanity) (Running sitout Razor's Edge), but as Hida's running, Alias slips out of his grip. Hida turns around and Alias nails him with a lightning quick A-Bomb (tiltawhirl tombstone) and gets the win.

Match 5: Spoiler vs. Shane Southern

Spoiler is in control for a good portion of the match. Southern puts up a much better fight than Prof T does. Spoiler gets him in position for a SpoilerBomb when Eddie Mayfield once again appears, this time distracting both the ref and Spoiler. Mayfield gets into a heated argument with the ref while unbeknownst to him and the Spoiler, Craig Miles sneaks into the ring, turns the Force of Nature around and delivers him a MILEStone (sitout piledriver). Southern gets up and delivers a Party's Over superkick for good measure and pins the Spoiler to advance.

Match 6: Alias vs. Troy Windham

Yes, Troy Windham DOES hit an actual wrestling move in this one, unlike in their previous encounter. It's a pretty even match. Windham has Alias set up for the SlackKnife, but Alias breaks out of it and hits a flash A-bomb, winning by pinfall.

Match 7: Ten Man Tag

The arena explodes when it's announced that the UNEMPLOYED COLLEGE STUDENTS are announced as the mystery team partners. It's a nutso affair, with The Queen's Court using every trick in the book to try and get over on the faces. The match ends with FINISHER MANIA~! Sweet Jesus Funk hits Joey Melton with a Japanese Ocean Cyclone suplex. Reign hits the Burning Hammer on Sweet Jesus Funk, PILE hits Reign with PILE's Best (TD '91), PILE gets nailed with a clothesline from behind and a Curb Stomp from Nemesys, Nemesys gets the business end of a Dragon's Bite from Karl Brown, who gets nailed with a Shipwreck (Emerald Fusion) from Cameron Cruise, who gets knocked for a loop by a Bunker Buster (Burning Hammer) from W. Clark, who gets waylaid by Lindsay Troy and a Final Judgement (Pedigree). Finally, Lindsay Troy is blindsided by Boogie SMallz and a Power Bong (180 degree spinning power bomb). Boogie gets the pin and his team gets the win.

Match 8: UDWA Championship Finals: Shane Southern vs. Alias

Both men are weary from two matches earlier in the night, but it's still a classic. The Pulp Original gives Southern all he can handle, and vice versa. The match comes to a close with Alias stunning Southern. He goes in for the A-Bomb, but before he can, the speakers start playing "Voodoo Chile" by Ben Harper. Alias and the ref look around for Eddie Mayfield and/or Craig Miles, but neither of them come out. Southern uses the distraction to hit Alias with a low blow. When the ref looks over, Southern hits Alias with a Party's Over superkick and wins the match. Shane Southern is the first-ever UDWA World Heavyweight Champion. The Professionals come out and pose with Southern, but then the Spoiler comes out clears house for being screwed out of his match. The PPV ends with a shot of an enraged Force of Nature.

The SPT before the first PPV

I figure I'll get back up on my fantasy2 booking horse again with a filler show between the Tag Tournament and the first PPV. Just in case you forgot, Lindsay Troy won the North American Championship the first show, and Gladiator and Big Dog won the Tag Titles the second show. So anyway, here goes.

We open the show this week with an in-ring segment with UDWA's first known stable, North American Champion Lindsay Troy, The Cameron Cruise Project and Reign, replete with straitjacket and bodyguards armed with tazers. They're in the ring, cutting a prom when they're first interupted by Boogie Smallz, who needs to get him some revenge on Lindsay Troy and the Project. Then Karl Brown comes down saying the same thing. Then, W. Clark comes out and Boogie says that they got enough for a somewhat fair fight before charging the ring. However, as soon as they get to the ringside area, Nemesys comes out from the crowd and blindsides Smallz, allowing Troy and a freed Reign to attack Brown and the Project to double-team Clark. The roving band of refs and security break the affair up, and of course, Reign gets tazed in the process.

Cut to a commercial, then back from the break, ace freelance reporter Squiggy Jackson catches up with the Queen and her cohorts. They name themselves "The Queen's Court," and put the UDWA on notice.

Match 1: UDWA Tag Team Championship Match: Big Dog and Gladiator (c) vs. The Professionals

Rematch of the gauntlet finals, this match is a lot more even now that both teams are at full strength. The end comes with a botched North of Sanity elbow drop from Miles that Gladiator converts into an inside cradle for the pin, just to put a pseudo-blowoff to the tag division for now since I don't have any plans for the tag belts at the PPV and I'm starting something new for after the PPV.

After another commercial break, it's announced that the main event for the evening is an eight-man tag match featuring all the competitors for the World Title Tournament. Beast, Spoiler, Alias and James Irish vs. Troy Windham, Hida Yakamo, Shane Southern and Professor Tremendous.

Cut to a hallway where Prof T is at the vending machines. Beau Michaels sneaks up behind him and hugs him. Prof gets freaked out, and Beau goes further, grabbing his crotch. Prof yells out "I need an adult" and Slambo comes out of nowhere, leveling the very bisexual superstar.

Back to the ring for another match...

Match 2: Yori Yakamo, Jr. vs. Andrew Gilkison

This match is here just for comic relief (Yori) and to give the guys a shot to show their wares on the show, just to keep the audience entertained. Andy wins here after Yori misses with the powder and Andy serves him up with an AndyBomb.

Back from break, we're backstage with Shane Southern, who claims he's gotta surprise for everyone coming up at the PPV.

In another backstage segment, we learn that there have been two more matches signed: one for the PPV and one for tonight. Tonight, we'll see Beau Michaels taking on Slamob the Clown, one on one, with Professor Tremendous banned from ringside. At the PPV, we're going to see a 10-man tag match, the Queen's Court vs. Boogie Smallz, W. Clark, and a mystery team.

Next up right after that, we have an in-ring interview with Troy Windham, who's extolling the virtues of himself. When he's interrupted by Alias, who's still bitter about being screwed out of the CSWA tournament. They have a staredown when all of a suddenly, Hida Yakamo, Alias' first round opponent appears out of the crowd and jumps in, attacking the Pulp Hero. It's a two on one beatdown until Spoiler comes down to get him some of Hida, and then Prof T, and then Beast, Shane Southern and James Irish come down to participate in some pre-tag match and tournament brawlage.

Commercial break and we come back with our next to last match:

Match 3: Beau Michaels vs. Slambo the Clown

This is a back and forth affair. Fast-forward to the end, where Michaels has Slambo in position for the Love Lost crotch-grabbing powerbomb, when through the crowd runs Prof T. As soon as he enters the ringside area, the bell rings for a disqualification. Prof enters the ring and low-blows Beau. Two on one beatdown until the roving band of refs comes out to break things up.

After commercial break, it's time for the main event:

Match 4: Troy Windham, Shane Southern, Hida Yakamo and Professor Tremendous vs. The Spoiler, Beast, Alias and James Irish

This is an ultra-chaotic clusterfuck brawl that ends in total chaos with a no decision. The show ends with a shot of allthe tournament competitors brawlign each other randomly.

Tag Team Booking

Today's been a rough day, so I think I'll unwind with a little more fantasy booking.

When we last saw UDWA action, Lindsay Troy was crowned the first ever North American Champion with some help from the Cameron Cruise Project, pissing off Karl Brown and Boogie Smallz in the process. ProfT got into some trouble with Beau Michaels, and the brackets for the World Championship Tournament for the first PPV were unveiled.

More importantly for this edition of Sunday Prime Time though, the Tag Team Championship bracket was decided, only instead of a tournament, it was decided that it would take place through a random lottery gauntlet. The lovely Teri Melton (who undoubtedly slept her way onto the show) pulled out two lottery balls that read "Mikey F'n W and Liquid Snake" and "The Psycho Ward." So that's our first match of the evening.

Match 1: Mikey F'n W and Liquid Snake vs. the Psycho Ward

The match is what you'd expect, fierce brawling with action spilling out into the ringside areas and even into the stands in the case of Mikey and Torment. While they're in the crowd, Snake has Hyde set up for Hell on Earth, but Hyde blocks, hits Snake with a catapult and then as he's stumbling back, Hyde turns him around and nails him with the Lobotomy for the win.

Teri Melton is back and this time pulls a ball that says "Unemployed College Students"

Match 2: The Psycho Ward vs. The Unemployed College Students

PILE and SJF enter to a thunderous pop. Torment has finally gotten out of the crowd from brawling with Mikey. The match is another fierce brawl. All four men are in the ring, and PILE has Hyde set up for PILE's Best. However Torment clobbers SJF with a Hansen-esque lariat, knocking him into PILE. Torment follows up tossing SJF out of the ring and nailing PILE with the Eternal Torment for the win.

Break:

Lindsay Troy and the Cameron Cruise Project are backstage ready for an interview when they're blindsided before they can even speak by Karl Brown and Boogie Smallz. They hold the advantage until Reign bolts on camera like a bat out of hell, wildly attacking Brown and Boogie, letting the CCP and Troy regain their footing and make it a 4 on 2 beatdown until Reign's handlers taze him and the roving band of refs and security break the fracas up.

Cut to the stage again, where Teri Melton picks a lottery ball that says "Chip Friendly and Jeffery Bellview" on it.

Match 3: The Psycho Ward vs. Chip Friendly and Jeffery Bellview

Hey guess what? Another brawl! The Psycho Ward's luck would run out here as Chip Friendly's distraction of the ref and Jeffery Bellview's sneaky attack with brass knucks helps them eliminate Hyde and Torment from the tournament.

Teri Melton's back and she picks a ping-pong ball with "Euclid and Druid" on it.

Match 4: Chip Friendly and Jeffery Bellview vs. Euclid and Druid

The fans go CRAZY as one of the classic A1E tag matches is recreated. A classic affair, just like in the summer and fall of 2001 but with Euclid and Druid getting the win after a spike piledriver to Chip Friendly as Bellview is kncoked off the top rope after going for a maneuver.

Break:

Cut to the backstage with Troy Windham, who extols every one of his heelish virtues from the last 90 days. He's interrupted by Alias, who's still not too pleased that he got beaten through chicanery in the UNIFIED World Championship tournament. Verbal standoff with refs preemptively striking.

Back to Teri Melton, who picks out "Big Dog and Gladiator," causing the fans to go apeshit.

Match 5: Euclid and Druid vs. Big Dog and Gladiator

This match is the match of the night. The old rivals battle with intensity, especially when Euclid and Big Dog are in the ring together. Each man in this match kicks out of a finisher, but at the end, it takes a Roman Candle from Gladiator AND a Dog Pound from Big Dog on Druid consecutively to put down the previous winners. The competitors shake hands as a sign of respect, but the announcers question wehther Dog and Gladiator have enough gas to win the next match, let alone the last two matches.

Teri Melton is back and she picks "The Cameron Cruise Project" out of the bin. Cut to a scene backstage where the Professionals are watching the ball being picked. Eddie Mayfield realizes that they'll have the last spot and be the favorites to win it all and rubs his hands together in anticipation while Craig Miles just drinks whiskey with a blank look on his face.

Match 6: Big Dog and Gladiator vs. The Cameron Cruise Project

The CCP have control of this match through the beginning, but Dog and Gladiator find their second winds and fight back. Towards the end, there's an obligatory ref bump, and Lindsay Troy comes out of the back with her North American Title belt. She runs in the ring with the intentions of clocking Big Dog, but W. Clark comes rushing out of the crowd and spears her before she can make her move. Big Dog hits Melton with the Dog Pound and gets the win after that.

Break:

Reporters catch up with Clark in the back and they ask him why he of all people made the save, and he says it's because of the respect he had for Boogie Smallz having wrestled him tooth and nail in the NA tournament and wanted to get some measure of vicarious revenge for him.

Match 7: Big Dog and Gladiator vs. The Professionals

Miles and Mayfield Fargo Strut out from the back looking to prey on the drained Dog and Gladiator. The match starts quickly for the Pros, but Dog and Gladiator fight back. Looking to get some momentum back, Miles goes for Whiskey + Fire = DRAGONFIRE~! but Gladiator rolls forward, hops up and nails him with the Warrior's Death while Dog knocks Mayfield off the apron. Gladiator gets the pin and Big Dog and Gladiator are your first ever UDWA Tag Team Champions to the disbelief of the announce team and the delight of the crowd.

More later... I may do one more show before the PPV.

The first show

Anyway, what good is a fantasy roster if you don't book it? None, I says. None. So now, I'll begin with the first installment on free TV, because you want to build to your first PPV. We don't want to blow our load with the World Title on free TV either, so the first show will be a 12 man tournament for the North American Title (The NA title was always my favorite MBE title... it just sounds so cool.). One night tournament, four first-round three-way matches and then one-on-one affairs til the end.

Of course, the fed needs a name, so let's go with the Ultimate Dream Wrestling Alliance, or UDWA, and the show needs a title, so let's call it Sunday Prime Time

Match 1: Lindsay Troy vs. Karl Brown vs. Reign

THis may be the most lukewarm first round match, due to Troy's status as being a tweener and Reign's relative newness, but by the end of the match, it should establish Lindz as being a top heel and having some heat with Brown. The first elimination would be Reign by disqualification after he takes a bite out of Karl Brown's forehead and won't let go. He goes on a rampage until the psychiatric ward team comes down, tazes him and takes him away in a straitjacket. The match continues with a great show of wrestling skill with Karl Brown getting the upperhand late until an obligatory ref bump. Brown goes for the Dragon's Bite, but Troy counters with a desperation kick to the jimmies. She goes to the outside and then grabs a chair, whacking Brown with it, reviving the ref and making the cover for the win.

Match 2: Andrew Gilkison vs. Nemesys vs. Pharaoh

Andy G and Nemesys are no strangers to each other, seeing as they had classic wars in A1E back in the day. The first elimination would be Pharaoh after going for the Pharaoh's Curse piledriver on Andy. Before he can hit the move, Nemesys comes in and levels him with a clothesline, puts him in place on the bottom turnbuckle and hits a uick Curb Stomp for the win. THe match continues with ANdy getting a clean pin after a heated contest with the AndyBomb.

Break: Tag Title Announcement

Next woudl be the announcement of how the Tag Team Championships would be decided. Instead of a traditional tournament, the matchups would be decided through a lottery gauntlet: eight teams, seven matches with their placement decided by the luck of the draw. The announced teams: The Unemployed College Students, The Professionals, Mikey F'n W and Liquid Snake, Big Dog and Gladiator, Chip Friendly and Jeffery Bellview, Euclid and Druid, The Cameron Cruise Project and the Psycho Ward.

Match 3: Slambo the Clown vs. Beau Michaels vs. Atkins

First elimination here would be Atkins by Beau Michaels, where Michaels gets the pin with the Love Lost but won't stop pinning him. Atkins scrambles out of the ring and Michaels chases after him. As Slambo distracts the ref and Michaels is leaning out of the ring through the ropes, Professor Tremendous leaps through the crowd and hits Michaels with a bronzed scroll. Slambo takes immediate advantage with the Joy Buzzer, and the deranged clown moves on, revealing his alliance with the Good Professor in the process.

Match 4: Boogie Smallz vs. Yori Yakamo, Jr. vs. W. Clark

Yori's the first elimination here, after he swings and misses on a shot with his Black Thunder Yori Yakamo Special 9.5" Dildo (see Katz, EYE'm not afraid to book with sex toys) and Clark catches him with a DANGEROUS back drop for the pin. The match continues, as the rookie gives Boogie Smallz the run of his life. Boogie prevails though with a fight. Clark kicks out of the Power Bong, but succumbs after Face Tha Music.

Break: Backstage with Karl Brown

Brown is being attended to backstage, both for his chairshot and the gash on his forehead from Reign. Brown vows that he'll get him some payback for both attacks.

Match 5: Lindsay Troy vs. Andy Gilkison

A rough and tumble match with Andy on the offensive most of the time. The match finishes with Lindsay getting a cheap counter on an eye rake and then ascending to the top to hit the Crowning Glory.

Match 6: Slambo the Clown vs. Boogie Smallz

This match is a vicious brawl. Boogie pulls out the win despite ProfT interjecting himself. The Good Professor's antics backfire as he throws the powder in Slambo's eyes. Boogie takes advantage with Power Bongs on both men and an advancement to the finals.

Break: World Title Bracket announcements

The World Title Tournament for the first PPV is announced next. The first round matchups are The Spoiler vs. Professor Tremendous, Beast vs. Shane Southern, JAmes Irish vs. Troy Windham and Alias vs. Hida Yakamo. The winners of the Spoiler/Prof and Beast/Southern matches meet in the semis.

Main Event: Lindsay Troy vs. Boogie Smallz for the UDWA North American Championship

This match is an instant classic. Before the festivities take place, Joey Melton and Cameron Cruise come down to ringside and do special guest commentary. Lindsay holds her own, even though she's giving away a lot of height and weight to Boogie. She keeps Boogie off-balance with leverage and high flying moves, while Boogie pounds at her when he can with his size advantage. The match ends when Boogie has Lindz in tow for the Power Bong. Melton distracts the ref and Cruise hops in the ring and delivers Boogie a quick Reality Check. Troy gets up, hits the Final Judgement and wins the North American Championship. The show ends with Troy and the CCP in the ring posing for the jeering fans.

so that's the first show. All feedback is appreciated =]

A true fantasy roster

If you're a member of EWN, FW or the A1 boards, you probably noticed that each one is having (or had) a fantasy draft. Fantasy draft for fantasy wrestling... hrm, dorkiness on top of nerddom. Heh.

It's an intriguing concept though. I mean, I wouldn't be participating in the FW and A1 ones if I didn't like the idea. It all ties into your basic desires to see things the way you want to see them, with the characters you want and the feuds and all the dream matches, things you might not see in the real world of e-fedding because say Phil Banet (Big Dog's handler) doesn't have the time to do anything but A1E, or because Mike McNichols (Manson) is philosophically opposed to everything the CSWA stands for.

The drafts at both A1 and FW are both far from over, but I think I have a good roster for both to start out with so far. However, I'll save that analysis when both drafts are over. Right now, I'm going to share with you my own dream roster, without worrying about people stealing my picks!

The Main Event

Faces

Faces are so hard to come by in e-feds, seeing that everyone wants to play the heel so badly. IT's naturally easier to be a badass than it is to be something good and heroic. Well, let me rephrase that. It's easier to do the badass well than it is to be something good and heroic. Lord knows, people try to be heroes, but their writing is so pretentious that the heels have to go over. But anyway, some of these faces might not seem like faces in character, but that's alright.

The Spoiler - Sure, Dan West's landmark character was a heel for most of his MBE run, but I think he'd work well as a face just because he's the "holy shit" be-all, end-all character for the A1 feds. Of course, unless he's facing Andrew Gilkison, because how can you root against the Gilkinator?

Alias - He's one of the better new guys to come to FW that I've seen, and he's got a resume previously that is almost sterling. I think he works well as a face, in the sort of new-school way.

Beast - Another guy whom I think might be better as a heel, but his face work is strong as well. He's one of the most versatile characters around, and I think he'd be better suited as a face, seeing that there's a dearth of good main event good guys.

Heels

Troy Windham - If there's any doubt that the Slacker Windham isn't one of the greatest heels ever, read the first two NFW West shows and the latest CSWA PRIMETIME.

Hida Yakamo - He's totally an effective heel, but in a different way than Windham. While Windham is more of a "shock-jock," Hida is one of the best characters I've seen who can generate massive heel heat just from linguistics.

Shane Southern - Just because I feel bad for the guy having to retire right after he completed a BRILLIANT heel turn. I would just love to see Jason continue with the growth of his newfound heel character here.

The Upper Midcard

Faces

James Irish - He totally has the potential to break out, and someone I thought should have been the A1E Champion at Golden Dreams last year.

Boogie Smallz - He was able to take the ball and run with it in GXW, and I'd love to have him on any roster I would put together. A notch below the three I have as top faces, but still someone I'd feel comfortable holding my big title.

Heels

Lindsay Troy - She definitely has the potential to break into the World Title scene, but right now, I'd want her to be on top of the midcard to anchor the secondary title scene. I was tempted to have her go face, but I think she'd work better as the manipulative CHAIRwoman.

Professor Tremendous - My favorite Dan West character. Incredibly funny and incredibly good at getting whatever story you want to get over.

Midcard

Faces

Karl Brown - This guy is headed for big things in Empire. He's a very hard worker, and he plays the British face well... probably because he is British :)

Andrew Gilkison - Andy's a very dependable character who will always give you 110%. He definitely has upward potential. He just needs to have a breakout match.

Beau Michaels - Because every fed needs a good gay guy.

Heels

Nemesys - One of my all-time favorite characters. May be a little misplaced, beacuse he can totally work the main events, but he's also great in midcard feuds too. He's here to feud with Beast at some point... one of my favorite feuds ever.

Slambo the Clown (Bill Dempsey incarnation) - I think he should have won Pier 6. Great character, and I would pair him with Prof T here.

Yori Yakamo, Jr. - YORI=AWESOME!

Futures/Low-card guys

Faces

W. Clark - I thought he should have won this first round MBE Cup match. I was totally interested to see where he was going, and I'd love to give him that chance here.

Pharaoh - Another one of my all-time favorite characters. Never really got his due.

Heels

Atkins - He's another one of Bill's characters that had great flow and a nice direction but was cut short due to whatever reason. He was a good fit in UXW and MBE:UX.

Reign - Another really good fit in UXW. It's a shame that Josh didn't have time to develop him more.

Tag Teams

Faces

Gladiator and Big Dog - For my money, the greatest e-fed Tag Team I've ever seen.

Euclid and Druid - Almost unmatched chemistry between these two guys.

The Unemployed College Students (PILE and SweetJesusFunk) - The Odd Couple of MBE.

Mikey F'n W and Liquid Snake - Dog and Gladdy may be the best team I've seen, but Mikey and Snake are my favorite team.

Heels

Chip Friendly and Jeffery Bellview - The other team that made the A1E Tag Team scene so damn fun in early 2001.

The Psycho Ward (Torment and Mr. Hyde) - Barely edging out Anarcchy Inc. because I'm a huge Hyde mark.

The Cameron Cruise Project (Joey Melton and Cameron Cruise) - Definitely the most entertaining team of hte last year or so.

The Professionals (Craig Miles and Dennis Eddie Mayfield) - Just so I can break them up and have them destroy arenas feuding :)

The best part about my tag division is that I have 10 former World Champions in there that I can just as easily insert into the singles scene as I can in an exciting and enthralling tag scene.

And there you have my dream roster. You'd totally follow that fed, wouldn't you?
