I know I've come out hard against Halls of Fame in the past, and for good reason. Feds that don't really have a sense of longevity should tread lightly on how they're going to throw around an honor that should be reserved for the best of the best. I've somewhat mellowed on the issue over the years. Really, if you're going to institute a Hall for your fed, you'd better be damn sure that your fed's been around and active for at least five years and that you don't get into the habit of enshrining active characters or characters who come in, win every title and then quit the fed a week later because they have nothing left to prove.
As an aside, quitting because you have nothing left to prove is the biggest cop out. You always have something left to prove if you're truly great in this hobby. You're not just satisfied with winning the World Title, you want to defend it. You don't want to be great for a month, you want to be great for years. To me, a Hall of Fame worthy character is a character that proves time and time again why they're among the best in the hobby. The best recent example of a guy who should be a first ballot should his fed open a Hall is Big Dog. He went on a tear early on in his career, and then after he had his run with the title, he "settled into the back," focusing mainly on angles and stories. Then, he comes back and takes the World Championship again and on top of that, ventures into the interfed arena and places respectably there as well. That's greatness. It's not a one, two, or even six month run. It's sustained greatness, and it's even more magnified in this hobby, where characters can flame out in a matter of months.
Be that as it may, I'd still be hesitant to fully support any kind of character-based Hall of Fame. I mentioned it briefly in this thread at PTC, and yes Jay, your thread is the inspiration for this blog entry ;). I figured I'd explain it more here. It's not really all because of the temporal nature of characters either. Each character mentioned in that thread that I'm familiar with fits the mold of a true Hall of Fame character. They have longevity (Hell, Melton, along with Hornet and Mark Windham, is the most long-lived character in eW history, still going strong after two decades), they have their peaks and they have entrenched themselves in the history of their respective feds. Still though, it might come off as a slight to the handler behind the character, or in some cases, to the guys feeding ideas to the handler behind the character just to enshrine the person "on stage." Even though real wrestling Halls honor the character, usually, those characters are inextricably linked to the person playing it. Many of us have handled way more than one character, and a good amount of us have handled more than one character very successfully. On top of that, Joey Melton doesn't/didn't write matches. Steve Thomas does/did, and my criticisms about him handling the EPW crew notwithstanding, Steve Thomas has done an excellent job writing matches, ideating angles, giving personality to various NPCs, elevating other handlers by association and steering directions of entire feds. Just to honor what Joey Melton has done in character is a tip of the iceberg of what Steve has done both in and out of character over the years. In the grand scheme of things, which is more important?
That's why if I'd ever really get behind a Hall of Fame project, it'd have to be an across the board Handler Hall of Fame. That would pretty much solve a lot of problems. For one, it'd give people who were very good with several characters but never really had a defining character a place to be honored. It'd take into account things like fedheading, matchwriting, angle planning and the like. It'd also be a place for people who may not have had a great impact in a fed or via handling, but busted their asses to provide forums, host interfed events or mediate crises, forum guys who've had great impacts on the hobby but really don't have a character or fed attached to them.
Even though many of our best characters have a lot of us in them, when the character is honored, a lot of times, it feels like the person behind it isn't being honored as much. In the end, everyone just wants to feel pride, and I say there's more pride when someone is honored for the work they did, not just as the piece of work that they roleplayed as.

Apologies and the state of eW from my eyes
No folks, I'm not dead. I'm really not. Just between work and everything else, I've kinda neglected the blog. I don't like doing that, but sometimes, that's how it goes I suppose. I am working on a review for WrestleSTOCK, night 2, and hopefully, I can get that done before NEW and EPW get their next PPVs posted. I do want to say though that both feds should be proud of how the joint card went down. Edmunds, Brunk, Steve, Strawsma and everyone who RPed, wrote matches or had anything to do with the card should be damn proud of it. I really feel it was a rousing success and something that will be remembered in the FW community for a long time.
I'd like to take this opportunity to say a few things, address the communities and such.
First thing's first, I want to make a few apologies. One, I'd like to apologize to Katz, ChrisNova, Jeff, McNic and really everyone in NFW. I've been slacking on the v. 3.0 stuff, and I know people have been counting on me to contribute. It's not for lack of desire to work on NFW stuff, it's just I've budgeted my time really poorly, and I haven't adapted to the new schedule and degrees of freedom Katz has been affording the handlers since the new format has started. Plus, I've totally welched on the WrestleBowl Night 2 review, and really, that's a huge injustice to everyone who contributed to it, especially the UT finalists.
I'd like to extend apologies to Matt Ward, Fergus and the crew at PRIME. I know I left you guys, especially Fergus, in a lurch when I left. It's funny that I always seem to pump up feds that have timely schedules, yet when it comes to competing in a fed that has the excellent combination of punctuality and quality, I came up far short of what I should have been producing as a roster member. I let people down, and I hate doing that. So I'd like to say I'm sorry for that. You guys are running a fine show, and I'm sure that will continue in the future, with or without me.
Finally, I'd like to apologize to all the feds out there that I seem to have given the short shrift on coverage, mainly feds like FUSE and A1E. Please don't think my lack of coverage for your events is an indicator of how your feds are doing.
And now, to part two of the post.
There has been a lot of bemoaning about the state of the hobby lately. I know I've been guilty of perpetuating that with the blog from time to time, but really, with all the doomsaying and such, I really like where eW is at right now. It may not be the "golden age" but if you only want something in its golden age, you're really not interested in that thing all that much anyway, are you? I really do feel like the people involved right now are really involved, and they're making this thing work with very high levels of quality. The feds that are around are producing great results, be they at the punctual rates of feds like A1E and PRIME, or feds going at their own rates, like EPW and NEW.
You can pretty much go to any active fed that's listed in my sidebar here and find good to great writing. In the end, isn't that all you need to ask of any fed you want to participate in or follow? People are interested, people are gung-ho for the projects they are in. There are folks who are dedicated to the feds they're in. There are folks who are spreading across borders and breaking down barriers, challenging themselves in circles where they're not familiar.
I mean, you have guys like ChrisNova who are generally on fire. Craig Maloof is blazing trails both in his PTC home and in FW. Lindz, what else needs to be said about her that hasn't been already? NFW, NEW and EPW are all hot right now. Josh Ray is back pushing the up-and-coming talent in his MWCW. MBE is gaining momentum. Jarret, Phil, Andy and everyone involved in A1E is putting out quality stuff. NAPW and REBEL are still churning out great shows on their indie schedules. Hell, even folks that I've been at odds with in the past, guys like Arrows and William Morgan, are trying out TEAM along with the standbys that I've been able to count on over the past 18 months.
Sure, the new blood is only trickling in, but I'd take what we have right now over floods of new people who come in and flake. We need to stop worrying about the new blood or where all the angle feds have gone or all the doomsaying and concentrate on the positive. We need to concentrate on taking the trickle of new blood and cultivating them into valuable members of our communities. We need to stay positive and keep writing what we're writing. Otherwise, we perpetuate self-fulfilling prophecies of doom, longing for the days of the fWo and CSWA being titans instead of making our own feds that are active now into the feds that we talk about in years future.
I really do think that eW is flourishing right now. I commend everyone who is making that possible, and I think that if we keep up the way we're going right now, this hobby will always be in good shape, no matter what happens with the sport we emulate in real life.

More random notes
I was going to have this big long post about the happenings this weekend, but I figured that'd only unneccessarily raise my blood pressure and my urge to kill everyone who has pissed me off in the last 72 hours. It's healthier to let sleeping dogs lie anyway and not dwell on the past. Let's concentrate on the positive, like everyone who did well in the ToC. Congrats to ChrisNova for adding yet ANOTHER trophy to his mantel for this year. Big ups to everyone in the top 10, becuase it was a damn good crop this year. There have been some other pretty good developments too, like...
- WrestleStock, Night One posted! With everything that was on my plate today, I haven't gotten a chance to sink my teeth into it, but I did skim some results. Big ups to Jamar Short for winning the King of the Cage with "Triple X" Sean Stevens. You deserved it, and if I had to job to anyone, I'm glad it was you.
- If you haven't had the chance yet, go over to PTC and check out what Mat Waters has done with promoting his new angle fed, One World Wrestling. This very much reminds me of an idea I had back before I started brainstorming the original concept for TEAM: Nation-based wrestling. He's been busting his ass, hyping this thread with teaser matches and now, roster profiles. What's unique about the fed is that he's not starting it from the ground floor. He's putting in a backstory, giving the fed history. That's ballsy, very ballsy, but I'm very intrigued by the idea. Hopefully, he'll let his roster input some things about the history, make things as organic and spontaneous as you can with this kind of thing. Here are links to each of his hype pieces thus far. If you've got the stomach for narrative, check them out:
DigiMort is the first non-Waters created character featured so far. I'm very intrigued to see both the NPCs that Mat's keeping around like STOICA~! and the handlers who are going to be involved. My advice is to keep an eye on this fed. Hopefully, it can withstand the almost insurmountable entropy that seems to doom angle feds before they start nowadays.
- Another great idea from the PTC fold - PTC Wiki! Big ups to Craig for starting this, and hopefully people pick up on it. FW had one of these rumored too. I know Edmunds has or at least had one for NEW and I think he even proposed one for FW. Edmunds is always thinking a step ahead of the game; it's just too bad a lot of the doers at FW are few and busy with their own projects to be able to help out fully. Either way, Wikis are a great idea to help get outsiders better acclimated to the forums and feds with centralized information. Just another thing that would probably be a lot more fleshed out of we got paid to do this kind of thing :)

- The first profile, naturally, it's STOICA~!

Ask your blogger!
Alright, time to do the reader participation thing again. We did reader-suggested topics, guest columns and now I'll answer any and all questions you have for me. Just comment here and I'll answer them on the blog to the best of my knowledge.
To keep this from being a supershort entry, some notes:
- Go ahead and make some predictions on the ToC. You can do that right here. Just make a quickie prediction and a confidence level. This is for the purpose of making odds for vBookie.
- If you haven't noticed at any of the hubs, I posted a really, really long survey. If you haven't answered yet and have 20 mintues to a half-hour free, please answer it. I just love seeing what people think about eW, all the different ideas and all the questions that everyone, regardless of community, seem to be in unison about. I plan to post a similar topic every month on the hubs... although future ones won't be nearly as long as the survey :)
- Even though I haven't read the show yet, I got the spoilers from it and I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Mike Dove on winning the NFW World Championship as Kin Hiroshi. The trend of good guys winning World Titles continues into 2007, and by my reckoning, there isn't anyone in this hobby more deserving of winning the big one right now than he is. This is long overdue, and it couldn't happen for a nicer guy.

Busy busy busy
Yeah, work hit me hard again this week, so I haven't been able to review all the shows I wanted to yet. I did try to get the scoop on the poop for WfWA's International Wars, PSSPW's School's Out, NAPW's Badder Blood and of course, the biggie, NFW's Night One of Wrestlebowl. I feel bad because I promised more show reviews, but I just got hit with another round of digs in Jersey, two hours commute easy and no wireless access.
Still, I'm not too busy to throw out some congratulations. First to Lindz, for capturing the PRIME Universal Championship, becoming the first handler to my knowledge to be able to pull of a World Championship in both PTC and FW. Secondly, I'd like to throw some props out there to Bobby Nickens (Chris Storm, Guy Boudreaux) and Samantha Spinks (Tessa Windsor), who turned an eW relationship into love. After four years of dating, they got engaged recently. Congrats guys, always good to see love wherever it springs up.
More shillage on my part, I'm taking apps for the Tournament of Champions, and if you're interested in seeing if you're eligible, check out the threads at the various eW hubs that I frequent. If you're not eligible and you want in, there's a prime opportunity to get a spot through the FREE FOR ALL~! Match in TEAM's SuperShow V. If you're not eligible and you'd rather not do the FFA~! route, then I need good judges.
Also, a note to all those who are RPing for SSV... You have a little more than 48 hours to RP. If you've got something, now's a pretty good time to put it up.

PTC: End of an Era
This past Monday, Ross Fynmore, aka Argyle, announced he was stepping down as the head of the PTC interfed and from the site altogether.
The resignation post
The timing caught me off-guard, but this was something I had been anticipating for a little while now. Despite GTT6 moving along at a relatively brisk pace (something I attribute to the judges getting their shit together), a lot of interfed events have been sidetracked and delayed due to the real life constraints of all admins involved, especially Ross. I knew that with every PM I got from him telling me about how hectic his life was/is that he wasn't going to have the time to continue.
This isn't a bad thing for him. Let's face it, for those of us past the undergraduate level in college, time for eW is at a premium. It's selfish for anyone of us to expect someone to operate at a high level while expecting them to give us allowances for our real life happenings. Ross spread himself as thinly as a good coat of paint in order to keep things going. He's endured several incidents of plagiarism, people bitching at him for GTT results, controversy between one of his admins and a member fed and hell, he owned a site at which Jeremy J. was allowed to post for an extended period of time. That last one in and of itself is grounds to have him canonized.
So let's give Ross a good sendoff. He did well during his time as lead administrator of Primetime Central.
At the same time, we need to scramble and find a solution to keep PTC going. The hub is too important to the hobby for it to go by the wayside. The interfed activities have to continue, but the question is who is going to run it and still deal with the message board bullshit? Pete Speer, the other admin, is also severely lacking for time. He can't be expected to do it all. Thankfully, Ben "Pants" Morrow and Andy Hewitt have taken over the running of the Unified Title and IG divisions respectively. The interfed bases are covered. There's no need for the i-fed to disband. I think that Pants and Andy will do a fine job, but to whom will they answer? Does Pete have the time to administrate that as well?
Honestly, I think Andy and Pants should be left alone to co-moderate all the interfed dealings until they feel they can't do everything by themselves. That would leave Pete to scan the message board and be the superadmin. If he can't do that by himself, then there are plenty of great candidates to take the job. Ben (Stephen Caldera) and Dean (BraveHeartFan) are two ideal ones. Some people may point to former admins... some may even suggest RJ (Hanshi no Shikaze) could do an adequate job.
It's true, he was always on the boards and he caught everything. You could even say that if he was around now, there wouldn't be a problem. However, RJ was too polarizing a figure, and if he were given the reigns, then I can guarantee you that at least one fed, if not three, would have bolted from the i-fed. PTC would have died or been greatly diminished. It's a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't, but I think PTC can pool together fine now.
So while we bid a fond adieu to Ross now, we must make sure that PTC survives and thrives into the future. The world of creative writing based RP feds needs to have a hub like wrestling promo based RP feds have FW and the angle feds have W3:16. All of us have to work together.
But I think we can. I think we will succeed.

The Good Guys Do Win
I don't know what 2006 is wholly going to be remembered for. It's been a crazy year. Feds have died (ACW, AWC). Feds have been born (SbW, RevPro). Feds have come back from the dead (MBE). Wrestlers have pretended to be imitations of other wrestlers (Anti-Cross/Beast, "Slambo"/Steven Shane). There've been a multitude of face and heel turns, and a plentitude of big title wins.
However, to me, there haven't been two bigger title wins this year than two that happened at the tail end of the year, one in A1E and the other in PRIME. If you haven't guessed by now what two guys I'm talking about, well, allow me to illuminate. James Irish captured the A1E World Championship from Richard Farnswirth at Cyber Brutality, and Nova captured PRIME's Universal Championship from Tchu at King of Kings (a pretty good read, by the way... you should peep it just for the Face-Eater stuff). These two title wins are the most satisfying I've read all year... well, aside from my own A1E Title win with JA and LVW Title win with Cowboy Jimmy Donovan, but you knew that :p.
Why are they so gratifying though? Because both guys are guys who worked and worked and finally got over the hump after years of toiling to get to the spotlight. They're both the kinds of guys that everyone feels good about winning the big time, mainly because they've come so close so many times.
Take James, who's been in the main event scene in A1E for about three years now. He's consistently one of the most entertaining guys on the roster, a well-done face in a sea of heels (although A1E seems face-heavy at times...), but he never got over the hump until last month. He'd come so close; sometimes, it felt like reading my own match to see how he was going to do.
Nova, from my understanding, has had a lot of real life stuff intervene with his march. Always a PRIME fan-favorite, he was *thisclose* to getting there when he went to France to study for a semester, thus killing his involvement in the hobby for that time. While it was a wonderful opportunity for him in the real world (which is what counts), it still left people feeling bad for him that he couldn't capitalize what he had worked for. Then, he came back and came close again with the Great American Nightmare match. I haven't been following PRIME as long as some other people who read this blog, but I still felt an immense sense of pride for Nova getting over the hump.
Now, don't mistake this for displeasure at the former Champions. Richard Farnswirth and Tchu made phenomenal Champions, and I felt good for them when they won their respective titles. However, for both of them it was their second run with the title in question, and both of those guys have an air of dominance around them, like they don't even need to try. That's not a bad thing, but it certainly evokes different feelings.
So while 2006 on the whole may not be represented by the hard worker finally getting his due, the end of this year certainly will be punctuated by it. It just goes to prove... the good guys do win after all.

Philadelphia: City of (E-Fed) Champions (and some NFW stuff)
Before I get to my entry, some notes on the NFW shows.
Much like he was for EPW Unleashed, Steve, handling Joey Melton, was the MVP for this West show. I think he might have clinched WOTM for Melton for July with his stuff here, even if most of his stuff for both shows was written in June :p. I also liked the Riktor/Alias match and Miles going batshit at the end of the show. Good read.
The East show... well, it was okay. The Felix Red stuff was pretty good, as it always is, and the Dan Ryan promo was money. I thought some of the stuff there was underwhelming though. For one, the Payne/Manson match... wtf was that all about? I kinda thought the commentary, with all the announcers lowbridigng Payne, was pretty crass. The match kinda put Payne back on an even footing, but I'm still left baffled as to why it would be put in at all. I don't know... I guess I'm a Payniac at heart and maybe I thought he was in on it too. Who knows. Kin Hiroshi nearly dying at the end didn't really suit me either. I'm sure Do've's got something up his sleeve to work with that. He always does, he's one of the best.
And now, to the meat, shall we?
The last time Philadelphia has seen a major World Championship in any of the team sports was in 1983, when the Sixers nearly went fo'-fo'-fo' to the NBA title. There's a growing amount of frustration surrounding that futility, so much so that the sports fans here are under a collective depression, a depression which clouds the fact that life goes on, and that we've done well in other arenas other than the Big Four. I mean, Bernard Hopkins was a boxing Champion forever. The Phantoms have hoisted two Calder Cups and even the Kixx and Wings have won their indoor soccer and lacrosse titles respectively.
Here in the e-fed community, Philly plays a huge role. Unlike our roles in other sports, we breed Champions here. Some of the best handlers call Philly home. That's nothing to sneeze at in this hobby. It's something to be proud of.
Here's a list of some of the best from the Philly area. I'm from Philly, but I'm not going to list myself, because I suck. Anyway...
Dan West - 8x MBE World Champion, 2x A1E World Champion, plus a slew of other secondary and tag titles, he's acknowledged as one of the A1 crew's best handlers, if not the best. His creativity and knack for building heat give him sterling credentials.
Jamar Nicholas - IWC and UWA World Champion, but most importantly, JAMMAAAAARRRRR~! *shakes fist* gets the moniker of greatest heel ever for his work wtih Eddie Mayfield. Seriously, JN's a master of talking trash, and there aren't very many other guys I'd pick to anchor a fed than him.
Gregg Gethard - Multiple time CSWA World/UNIFIED Champion among others... Gregg may originally be from North Jersey, but we won't hold that against him. He's been habitating these parts for a good long time now. We've adopted him as one of our own. Gregg's great at outrageous heel moments, creating shocking moments, the kinds that if it happened in a real wrestling ring, it would get him pelted with garbage. One of the best old-school minds in the game.
Jeff Kane - MCW World Champion, EPW IC and TV Champion among others... I'll cop to not always bein a huge fan of Jeff's work, but he's improved so much since I've come into contact with him. He's always willing to learn and incorporate new things into his work, and he'll become one of the elites before everything's said and done if he keeps at it.
Tom Ford - IWO and fWo World Champion... The other Philly Tom is among the elite in the angle fedding world. Don't let his 4th round selection in the most current EWN draf fool you. High Flyer is an elite character, and if folks over there didn't have fetishes for old school fWo and tA, he would have gone way sooner.
Adam Shinder - MCW World Champion among others... the only thing holding Adam back is his propensity to disapper. So far, he's done his best to stick around, putting on some good work for MCW, A1E and TEAM. When he's around, he's one of the best. There's no denying this.
See, we have the goods here in Philly in at least one area. Now, if there ever was a competitive team league for e-wrestling writers, we'd definitely have a damn good shot of taking that title home with the talent we've got here.
In fact, I think we should change our slogan.
Philadelphia: Come for the cheesesteaks, stay for the e-fedding!

Some updates
- The Ultimate A1E Tournament voting on the Allen Thomas bracket concludes tonight. I'll put my own votes in a comment to that entry, and then we'll move on with the next bracket first round tomorrow or Saturday. On my glancing over the votes, no matchups really seemed close except for Torgo/Drifter, which surprised me. But regardless, we move on, so who knows what surprises lay ahaed.
- UCW's Civil War was posted, and it was a pretty good read. Great job by Shane and Dan to get a good show out after the server problems. There's a temptation to sort of put out a sluggish card after such problems and after RP for the card was so sluggish (I'm one to talk, seeing as how I only RPed once as Benoitholic... I'll get out more matierial with him as I get more comfortable with him, I promise!), but the steak of the show matched its sizzle. Joey Melton and Mr. Incredible... two surprises and two great additions to the UCW roster.
- Still more at ENN, and a little self-promotion here too, TRASH TALK~! I'm hoping this will help build up the RPs for round one by giving everyone some material. Big ups to everyone who trash talked so far, especially to Devin, who opened up with a phenomenal trash talk with Lord Lowell and really got things going. Shane G., Bryan and of course, Bill have also gotten up some really, really good material.
- Last, but certainly not least a huge, huge, HUGE congratulation goes out to Garbage Bag Johnny for winning AWC's Zero 2 Hero tournament. He faced some stiff, and I mean STIFF competition, and there really isn't anyone better to be carrying AWC's banner right now. Also, huge props to everyone who wrote and contributed to the tournament, especially to Mike Wade, Joe Schmidt and Fergus the Loon for concocting a brilliant swervy angle with Wadester turning on Adam Dick. This is a must-read segment. All in all, this write up has gone a long way into establishing Z2H as the premiere event on the AWC calendar, and hopefully, it will garner the attention in the PTC world and all across the e-fedding universe as one of the big, mark-your-calendar events.

Championship Luster (and some pimpage)
Before we get to the meat of this post, first a few things.
First, congratulations to The Renegade Rich Rollins for winning GTT5. 128 guys, and Rollins pulled this one off. Big ups, and Rollins has pretty much planted himself as the new legend on the PTC Circuit, as he's also their current Global Champion.
Secondly, Russ is doing an interesting thing regarding fantasy booking of... our fantasy wrestling world ;). The VS. Tournament is in nomination phase right now, and basically, the rules are you can nominate up to three guys in each bracket. There are three brackets right now:
FW Bracket
EWN Bracket
PTC Bracket
Nominate in all three if you're familiar with each of the three circuits. OR just nominate in the circuits you're familiar with. I'm going to stress for our FW guys to get their votes out, because so far, we're pretty far behind the other two brackets. Let's go! Let's get that lead out!
Finally, to the meat of the post.
Among the smart fans of real-life professional wrestling, there is much ado about the prestige and worth of Championship belts. A lot of it nowadays centers on how worthless WWE titles seem to be as they get either thrown around like hot potatoes or they're placed on guys like Shelton Benjamin and forgotten for months on end.
I'd bet that most of this talk is justified, seeing that the main focus of any wrestling promotion should be to draw money. Even lower tiered titles can be used as draws if booked correctly, and even if they aren't the draws themselves, they can be used to make wrestlers into draws themselves. Even if the titles aren't the draws they were back in the day, they can surely be helped to make folks who don't have unreal charisma to help draw money.
Some people try to transplant that argument of the worth of titles from WWE-Land to the world of e-feds, claiming that hotshotting titles will cause the same drain of prestige from those belts. Hell, I was guilty of this in the past in my criticism of the A1E Title controversy in the summer of 2004, when Euclid no-showed and Torment won the title.
Looking back, I was off-base, and anyone who tries to make any argument that e-fed titles can lose luster is for the most part off-base, at least when it comes to any of the feds that I follow here on this blog.
You see, the main focus of this hobby is not to draw money. If that were the case, I'd be rich, Chad Merritt would be Vince McMahon, and all the FW feds wouldn't have problems with lag. We do this to have fun, and we do it at our own pace. If that pace is A1E's two-week cycle, so be it. If it's the breakneck, one-show-a-week rate AWC runs at, so be it. If it's more along the lines of a show a month like the pace EPW has settled at, so be it.
So because we do this for fun and as a way to blow off steam, titles really don't have the impact they would in the money-making environment. I mean, it would be nice if all our title lineages were intact and were full of guys who'd hold titles for good long times to make them valuable, but hey, there's not much you can do to control how titles are changed unless you're in an angle fed (which are really the facsimiles of real life feds in that their results are worked).
RP feds are more shoot than the real thing, and because of that, titles can change hands at every show and they'd still be every bit as valuable than if they changed hands once a year. In a way, the spirit of competition protects championship belts. Because we don't know the results of the matches before they're booked, the RP periods are really competitions, and every time a title changes hands, the person who won it has earned it. Even one week reigns are impressive seeing that they aren't just handed out to people like they would be in the WWE.
Plus, titles are a way of honoring people in the hobby who do a good job, and since it's a hobby and not a business, we're more liberal in the way we honor people for ding a good job.
So really, any argument about titles losing their luster because of being hot-potatoed or changing hands due to a loss of smile... it's all bunk. RP e-fed titles will always be protected as long as the spirit of competition lives.

Christmas gifts!
Since I already went over what I want for Christmas, I figured now I'd tell you what I'd give certain folks for Christmas. It's a two-way street, y'know. And some people take more joy in giving than receiving.
So without further ado...
(Note, these are all "in-character" wishes)
- For Eddie Mayfield, a new X-Box 360 to replace the X-Box that mean ol' Craig Miles destroyed.
- For Michael Manson, drugs, in large doses, stat
- For Slambo the Clown, a brand new waterbug for a best friend
- For Yori Yakamo, Jr., several new (scantily clad, buxom and female, preferably) adherents to Yoriology
- For IrishRed, a DNA test to see if he is indeed Irish, because he surely hasn't gotten the luck of the Irish in tournaments this year
- For Dan Ryan, a new tie, because what do you get the man who has everything already?
- For Michael "Chainz" Sloan, a gift certificate for some therapy at Friends Hospital or any other "mental rehabilitation facility" of his choice
- For Seymour Almasy, two weeks paid vacation to the exotic, furthest away from a wrestling ring as you can find locale possible
- For Lowell Dot Com, 50 extra pounds of cellulite, because more fat means bigger sized clothing, bigger sized clothing, more area of fabric, more area of fabric... well, you see where I'm getting at here
- For Beau Michaels, the Yori Yakamo Special Edition Black Thunder 9" "Feminine Pleasure Device" *wink wink, nudge nudge*
- For Ellis Nash, a Victoria's Secret "barely there" bra, for protection against locker room intruders without the uncomfortable restraint of a regular bra
- For Poison Ivy, eyes that work
- For Cameron Cruise, a lifetime supply of light, fluffy Eggo waffles
- For Chip Friendly, someone to come along and beat Slambo for that Survivor Title so they can go after other things
- For Lindsay Troy, the Phantom of the Opera mask to cover unsightly, imitator-caused blemishes
- And finally, for the E-fedding Community as a whole, a safe, healthy New Year
