In light of WrestleStock 2007 and because something about this fed is long overdue, I present the home of the 2006 Dupree Cup Champions, New Era of Wrestling!
The Site:
Hey now!
The Champions
World: Jonathan Marx
Television: Mr. Entertainment
Prodigy Classic X-treme: Chaos
Tag: To be decided at WrestleStock
Latest Event: Raucous live from Trelawny, Jamaica (Mon!)
The Skinny on Recent Happenings:
NEW seemed to be on the path of conservative dominance when The Phantom Republican wrested the World Championship away from Jean Rabesque, sending the French-Canadian superstar seemingly out of the fed. However, there was a stumbling block along the way; Jonathan Marx. GOP, of course, was up for the fight, but he didn't count on having to team with Beau Michaels in a tag match where his Championship was on the line. His worst fears came true, and Marx won the title without ever scoring a fall on GOP; he made Michaels tap to the Marxism. Marx later legitimized the title victory by scoring a victory over GOP at BattleBRAWL. Just when you thought it was safe to mark things as "settled down," Jean Rabesque made his surprising return, waylaying GOP after the match was over.
At that same BattleBRAWL event, Shawn Hart, fresh off his return to NEW, entered at #1, and despite facing incredible odds and multiple near eliminations, the Phenom walked out of New York City the number one contender to the World Championship. That thrust him right into the sights of one Jonathan Marx. Their first title match was an impromptu affair, ending with John Doe inexplicably costing his former stablemate Marx the title. Marx won it back the next week, but there was no rubber match...
...mainly because the next Raucous, two matches muddled the title picture greatly. First, there was the Creme de la Creme battle royale, where The Phantom Republican, Jean Rabesque, Shawn Hart and Rocko Daymon all battled furiously. Then there was the Blast from the Past, where Jonathan Marx and Larry Tact crossed paths with two other guys who were there for nostalgia.
Tact also was planning a huge match for the Supershow, one that would feature himself and five hand-picked opponents.
Any coincidence that they were GOP, Rabesque, Hart, Daymon and Marx? And that's how we got to the Dueling Ladders match at WrestleStock, and they're going into it at full speed. At the last Raucous (the linked one in Trelawny), the main event lumberjack match between GOP and Marx ended with everyone brawling and Marx shockingly proving every Communist accusation that GOP levied against him and using the People's Liberation Army to plot his escape. Will he escape in Giants Stadium though?
Who to Watch For:
Larry Tact - He was the first NEW World Champion, and he could be the next. Since coming back, he's taken the bull by the horns and put himself in position to be the top dog in NEW for a long time to come. He's a team player, he writes segments, does angles and is a damn good RPer to boot. It's great to have him back in NEW, and he should provide some excitement at the top of the card for the forseeable future.
Rocko Daymon - Daymon is making a comeback in the FW arena. After a few years of relative obscurity, he's making waves in a few other feds, but his resurgence in NEW is what we're focusing on today. Daymon brought it in the Dueling Ladders match, and there's a good shot that he's going to come away with one of the briefcases. He's also the only guy in the fed who'll give that Phantom Republican guy a chance ;)
John Doe - I'm really impressed with Doe's character and angle since he came back. He's on this crusade to get women out of the wrestling ring and back into the kitchen, where they belong in his mind. This may seem like a clichéd angle, but you'd be surprised how little it comes up around eW, especially with the bounty of female characters. NEW is the FW fed with the most characters with no Y-chromosome, and if they're going to try and integrate the men with the women, this is the best avenue to do it.
Bored of Edukashun - I know that Canteloupe has had computer troubles lately, which may have figured into the BoEd's showing at WrestleStock, but this team will still make waves in the nascent tag division. Along with the Inner Circle, Jack 'n Hoff and the Saviors of Wrestling, the BoEd, who have a pretty neat gimmick, could make some waves in '07.

The Rundown: MBE
In preparation for the epic Ultimate MBE tournament, I give you the latest in this occasional series of fed-reviews, the venerable senior A1 fed itself.
The Site
Well, they're just a forum at A1 now, but I have it on good authority that they'll have a site soon.
The Champions
World: To be decided at Total Elimination in a match between Doc Silver and Justin Evitable
Tag: The Thrillbillies
Before closing in 2003, MBE had two other titles: The Unified and Survivor Championships. AJ Cirrus was the last holder of the Unified Championship (which is called as such because it's an amalgamation of the Cruiserweight, Television, Hardcore and North American Championships, all added at different stages), and Kanna Kirishima was the only MBE holder of the Survivor Championship. Followers of A1E will duly note that A1E had a title by the same name up until about summer of this year. That lineage is the same as MBE's since Kanna brought the title to A1E, and A1E duly recognized it as a title of their own.
Latest Event: WNW, recapped Meltzer style
The Skinny on Recent Happenings (note, this is all an in-character description... we had OOC discussion about the events in the first couple of paragraphs before, and I'd like to think all those issues are dead, buried and forgiven)
Before you can know what's going on now, I will take you back to 2003, a magical time when the Curse of the Bambino still lived, Britney Spears was still single and hot, and yours truly was teetering on the edge of e-fed retirement. In the spring of that year, the demand for e-fedding at A1 got pretty low. There were also three feds on the site, A1E, MBE and the third fed, UXW. By the time April/May rolled around, the leaderships of the two feds decided it would be in their best interest to merge and combine rosters. For about three or four months, MBE plodded on, and along the way, Promo defeated Paco the Wetback to unify the MBE and UXW Championships, while AJ Cirrus won the Unified Championship.
In September, feeling that MBE was stagnating, Promo and Cirrus jumped ship for A1E, taking the titles with them. MBE was crippled and decided it would be best to shut down. Many of the MBE faithful held deep grudges against the two superstars. Among them was one Andrew F'n Gilkison. When MBE reopened and Cirrus and Promo came back to roost, Gilkie was waiting to meet them head-on. The first major battle in the war happened at the first PPV, Awakenings. Gilkison defeated Cirrus in a last-man standing matchup.
Gilkie was then on a collision course with Promo first through the double elimination MBE World Championship Tournament. Their match on the 10/25 WNW was brutality defined. The next week, Promo cost Andy his match against Justin Evitable through interference. The hate between these two wrestlers is very tangible, and their match at Total Elimination should be a barnburner.
Speaking of the World Championship, the recently completed Tourney has come down to Justin Evitable and Doc Silver. This is not the most surprising result, but it's also not without interest. Justin's been in-and-out of MBE over the years, and has never risen above the midcard. Silver has made several enemies over on the other fed on A1, and it's remarkable that he'd even enter another fed on the same site. Still, there's no denying that these two deserve their shots. Two other folks who deserve their shots are a surging Jogi Fresh and the stalwart Duchess, who will face off for the Number One Contendership for the MBE Championship at TE.
The feud between the Thrillbillies and the Sheffield Wednesday Lot will come to a head at Total Elimination as the Billies will team with Jimmy Donovan and defend their MBE Tag Team Championships in an elimination match against the entire Lot, Nate, Mac and Juen Lee. This feud has been simmering since before Awakenings, and it boiled over at the first WNW after the PPV, when the Lot assaulted Jimmy Donovan, and the Billies made the save. This brawl was the last straw in a series of brawls between the two factions, and Yoshihiro Yamada ordered a no-contact clause between the two up until Total Elimination, where they'd face off in the six man elimination match. Since then, the Lot has been doing their best to play mind-games with the Billies, but the Southern Boys would have none of it.
Who to Watch For
Justin Evitable Yes, it's an extremely cheesy name, but Justin's evolved into a solid character who's finally showing the staying power he needs to make it to the main event. In these beginning stages of the MBE Reboot, that staying power is crucial. His work with Yori is pretty damn entertaining, and I wouldn't be surprised if he takes the World Title in a minor upset over Doc.
Jock McCrunk Ryan, Jock's handler, was my favorite guy to promo against back in the day. He's finally back with Jock after a couple year hiatus, and once he shakes off all the ring rust, watch out. The McCrunk character is great in premise, and he's got the talent behind him to ride to the top somewhere down the line.
Jogi Fresh Another mainstay from the old days, Jogi's another one whose handler is coming back from a longish hiatus. He's done a much better job shaking the ring rust, and he's a threat now to win it all. If only he can get past that sneaky Duchess...
Promo What happens when you've got the biggest bullseye in the fed on your back? Well, you tend to be the most interesting personality and the most readily accessible for a hot program. Promo carries a lot of baggage for a lot of characters, and the feuds shouldn't run dry for a long time.
The Sheffield Wednesday Lot What can I say? I'm a mark for hooligans. Easily the best new character concept I've seen this year. Hopefully, Bill and Jeff can devote the time needed to this group to make it super-entertaining.

The Rundown: A1E
Yes, A1E, my home fed. What do the initials stand for? Some say nothing, others say A1 Entertainment. I prefer the former, just because I'd rather not advertise that the name wrestling isn't in the marquee :p
The site!
The Champions
World: Richard Farnswirth
Cyber: Cross
Triple Star: Mr. Amazing!
Tag Team: Big Dog and Dan Ryan
Latest Event
8/20's edition of Warfare, live on the Ocho :p
The Skinny on Recent Happenings
There's a ton happening in A1E right now, and that's not surprising, seeing that they're in the build to their biggest PPV of the year, Golden Dreams VI (which is actually GD VII, but the first one wasn't numbered :p). Let's start at the top with the World Championship chase. Right now, Andrew Gilkison is in hot pursuit of Richard Farnswirth's World Championship as retribution for keeping him hostage for the better part of a year. It started when Andy was the Cyber Champion last year. Farnswirth and the rest of the Highland Park Social Club invoked Gilkie's membership with the group. Andy was an original member, but when he left A1E the first time, he apparently didn't quit the HPSC. Under an oppressive contract, he was at the mercy of Farnswirth for several long months until he was finally sent home by The Farnz for insubordination. You can't keep Andy down though, and soon he as back harassing the HPSC and fighting in a Contract on a Pole match at Mercury Rising against Duchess and Mr. Fikes. Gaining a small measure of revenge wasn't enough. Now Gilkie wants to hit the HPSC right where it hurts by taking the World Championship off of Farnswirth. Can he do it at one of Golden Dreams' huge main events?
Speaking of the HPSC, it finally happened. Slambo the Clown has finally broken away from the HPSC. Or has he? Well, yes, he has, unless you believe Chip Friendly has the real Slambo in his employ. This week, the real Slambo takes on the fake one, but how did we get here? Well, it all started when the Best Friends lost the Tag Team Championships to Big Dog and Dan Ryan. Chip blamed the loss on Slambo, and Slambo had enough of being treated unlike a friend. So he snapped at Chip. Chip and the rest of the HPSC thought it was an aberration, but Slambo soon found refuge in the company of real friends like Andy Gilkison. Chip was undeterred though, bringing in an imposter whom he claims is the real Slambo. This week is only an appetizer though to the impending Chip/Slambo showdown at Golden Dreams.
Keeping the flow going with another Dan West character, The Spoiler and Housefly are on a collision course. It started at Bloody New Year, when Spoiler appeared in the Pier Six Brawl for the express purpose of destroying Fly. He didn't finish the job then, but he's made it his life's mission in A1E to do so. Biding his time feuding with James Irish and holding the Cyber Championship, Spoiler tore through the Best of A1E Tournament like a hurricane. AS his spoils, he could have had anything, but he chose the DREAM match of taking on Fly in the other Golden Dreams main. So much animosity between these two superstars, who's going to come out on top The standard of A1E, or perhaps the greatest wrestler in MBE's history and then some?
Who to watch for
James Irish James has been around the main event scene for two or three years now, busting his ass, working with the Cyber and Triple Star Championships. He may have recently lost out on his only chance for the World Championship, but nothing can hold the Clown Prince of A1E down for too long. Expect him to be back in the World Championship scene sooner rather than later.
Dan Ryan Right now, he's got the Tag Team Championships with Big Dog, but if they ever drop those straps, watch out. Ryan has the name caché and the talent to make a bee-line to the World Championship.
Rocko Daymon Daymon's been a solid character wherever he's gone. Just from seeing him in the TEAM Invitational, he's impressed me, and now he's bringing the heat to A1E. I wouldn't be surprised to see him with gold before the year's out and I think he could be in the main event mix by this time next year.
Duchess Honestly, no one's been more consistent. I know she gets ragged on sometimes, but you can count on her to keep you busy. Plus she's improved a lot over the last couple of years. If she can get a good story behind her, then expect some bigger things from her.
Anti-Cross No, I don't know who he is, but I'm guessing we're all going to shit our pants when we finally find out who he/she is. Definitely one of the most entertaining storylines in A1E right now. Big ups to both this character and Cross, who's really come back into A1E with a vengeance.

The Rundown: EPW
I'm always talking about feds and reviewing their shows here, but really, how many people really get the feel of the fed unless they click the link and read the show? Even then, if they don't keep checking back, or they only check in for their favorite characters (both of which are okay... you follow what interests you or what's put in front of you). But do you really get a feel for the fed? What are the storylines involved? Who are the main players? Who should you watch out for?
Well, I figure I'll start giving rundowns of various feds from time to time. Give you what I feel are the main feuds and characters. Listing Champions. Of course, for the future, I'll be enlisting fedheads and other fed members to help me, but for now, I'll stick with what I know ;)
For starters, let's go with one of my favorite feds on the 'Net, Empire Pro Wrestling.
The Champions
World: Lindsay Troy
Intercontinental: Karl Brown
Television: Mike Evers (who doesn't have a profile! Grr)
Tag Team: The Highland Park Social Club (Chip Friendly, Richard Farnswirth, and Slambo the Clown, defending under triad rules)
The latest event
Unleashed
The skinny on current happenings
EPW's pretty much started a new arc with the close of this PPV. A lot of things are up in the air concerning big feuds, but one thing's for sure. With the end of Unleashed going the way it did, there are a few people who aren't going to be happy. Namely, Joey Melton and Lindsay Troy. With his lackey August de la Rossi presiding over the ceremony, Troy Windham kidnapped and married Lindsay Troy, the latest in his series of acts of harrassment against the EPW Champion. He-Troy was also Dis III, a knockoff of Lindz' landmark alias, and he burned the first female World Champion with a fireball.
Other than that, not much is going down in terms of new feuds.
EPW got officially got a new face though, as James Irish finally signed a contract to become an EPW competitor. Over the past few weeks, James has been invading EPW TV, making it his mission to try and get noticed. He's been taking over audio and visual, and now, he's finally on the roster. For those who don't know who James is, he's a former MBE superstar and current A1E main eventer.
At Unleashed, several feuds were culminated, including one between Jericoholic Anonymous and Shawn Hart. This feud started from the ashes of a number one contender's match at Russian Roulette, where Cross beat both Hart and JA. Hart came back out to attack Cross, but JA fended him off. Since then, they were running afoul of each other, with Hart enlisting Ron Artest and Ricky Williams to help kidnap Lollipop. JA countered with Bill Laimbeer. The feud died down a little after Hart disappeared and JA hired a guy who looked like Saruman and a whole crew of professional catapultists to fire shit at Hart's house. After several months, Hart reappeared, attacking JA after his match with Windham. They settled their differences in a steel cage submissions match, where JA came out on top.
Who to watch for
Karl Brown - He's the current Intercontinental Champion and one of the rising stars of the entire circuit. Don't let his showing in the big title match fool you; he's going to get another shot at the EPW title, and when he does, there's a damn good shot he'll make good of it.
"Triple X" Sean Stevens - In his first match back, he won a battle royale to gain #1 contendership to the EPW World Championship. His impressive showing at Unleashed proves that he's got the goods to earn a singles shot at the title. A long time CSWA and fWo vet, you can never discount the Blue Eyed Badass.
IrishRed - A novel concept, the badass brawler is looking to hurt Dan Ryan and his fed not through force, but through sabotage. He's tanking matches, advertising other companies on the air. What will he do next? Something brazen, you'd think. Because if it wasn't brazen, then it's not IrishRed.
Mike Evers - He won the Television Championship at Unleashed, and now, this EPW exclusive character has to prove he deserves to keep it. What antics will he and Wisconsin Bill pull off? Well, whatever they are, I can guarantee one thing; they'll be entertaining.
Adam Benjamin and Classy Mike C - Despite losing his TV Title, Benjamin remains one of EPW's hottest wrestlers. Now he's moving into the tag ranks with fellow EUWC Briton Classy Mike C. In addition to the HPSC, Priest and Eisenkreuz and Blitz, the tag division is hopping, and Benji and Mike C should prove to be strong contenders to the Social Club Triad's titles.
Well, I figure I'll start giving rundowns of various feds from time to time. Give you what I feel are the main feuds and characters. Listing Champions. Of course, for the future, I'll be enlisting fedheads and other fed members to help me, but for now, I'll stick with what I know ;)
