The Few, the Proud, the E-Fedders, part II

Emphasis on "proud" this time around.

So, notably for all you PTC pholk who read this thing, Jeff Ward, aka Teh Deville has resurfaced. I'm not going to get into the ramifications of this or his retirement from e-fedding (although much like Gregg, I wish him well and I really hope he does find the spark again... especially if it's for NFW or TEAM :D) or the nuts and bolts of what happened that caused so much controversy, but I will key in on something he said towards the end of his post.

"PPS - Stop being ashamed of being in this hobby, for fuck's sake. It's cool, it's fun, and hell, I was involved for almost six years..."

He's absolutely right. And this goes for any hobby that you happen to be involved in.

Seriously, if you can't be proud or at the very least not be ashamed of being an e-wrestler, then why do it? Why spend a good amount of time writing promos, RPs (and there is a difference between the two... well, all promos are RPs, but not all RPs are promos... maybe this is fodder for an entry on its own someday) matches and angle segments and then not let other folks know about them, especially if they happen to like wrestling as well?

Last night, I was talking to a friend of my brother's, and he came over and asked what I was looking at. I told him it was e-wrestling (I was looking at the ACW's submissions page) and I found out that he actually used to e-fed in a promotion called XIW.

Another time, way back when I was a sophomore in college, I was peeping an MBE card, I believe it was the one where Maggot got his first MBE World Title shot against Freakfish (back before he even won the Unified Championship) and one of my friends there asked me what I was looking at. I told him and found out that he was an e-fedder too. I actually got him to enter A1E, and for those of you who remember, that guy handled Cojack.

See, you never know who is going to approve or not and who you might be able to bring into your fed. If someone scoffs at you, so what. They're probably dicks anyway and you don't need to concern yourself with them. Usually, they'll either say "not my bag, but it's cool you do it" or "wow, I used to do it or I still do it and I like it."

Be proud you're an e-fedder. Seriously, it's fun, and it's even better when there are more and more handlers involved.

If I wasn't proud, I wouldn't have had the balls to tell my girlfriend (and she's still dating me!), I wouldn't keep this blog, and I wouldn't be a fedwhore (seriously... nine feds!). I love this hobby, and if you're in it, you should too. And you shouldn't be afraid to show it.
